How to go snowshoeing?
Is snowshoeing difficult?
A gentle and playful activity par excellence, snowshoeing is a truly rejuvenating experience.
Some discovered it when ski resorts were closed, others have been practicing for years, while some would simply like to try it for the first time. It is a great way to get active in the fresh air, without even feeling like you are working out, whether on marked trails or wilder paths. You will be far too busy marveling at the snow-covered panoramas to think about the physical effort.
This discipline is the perfect opportunity to explore the snow-capped mid-mountains with family or friends, such as the Vercors massif or the Glières plateau. Slower and less technical than skiing, snowshoeing allows both adults and children to venture onto pristine, untouched trails!
Requiring no learning curve other than knowing how to walk, this sport is accessible to everyone, including the youngest, and allows you to travel in winter without sinking too deep into the snow.
Whether you prefer a contemplative stroll or are a seasoned hiker, you will find active trips tailored to your level, allowing you to enjoy this activity at your own pace...
For those who are not fans of downhill skiing, it is another, gentler way to experience the mountains.
Where to go snowshoeing?
Snowshoeing trips in the Pyrenees, the Alps, walks in the Jura, or expeditions in Norway
- The Alps: the Vercors massif, a true Alpine gem, is the perfect place to discover or rediscover snowshoeing. This beautiful region, nicknamed "little Scandinavia," will charm you with its breathtaking landscapes, from pine forests to stunning viewpoints over the surrounding valleys. An ideal destination for easy snowshoe hikes in the Vercors massif in winter.
- The Pyrenees: this winter, head to the Pyrenees with snowshoes on your feet! For this destination, you have two choices. A "comfort" version including spa relaxation alongside your beautiful snowshoe hikes, or the "adventure" version to explore the high mountains (for those with a good level of physical fitness)! In both cases, a mountain guide will lead the expedition to share their local knowledge and expertise.
- The Jura: set off on an expedition to the French Great North! Armed with a pair of snowshoes and trekking poles, discover the untouched beauty of the Jura landscapes, transformed by winter into a true wilderness. All equipment will be provided; all you have to do is follow your guide along the most beautiful trails of the Jura.
- Norway: a dream destination a bit further afield, Norway is the ultimate playground for snowshoeing in search of the famous Northern Lights. Beautiful hikes await you to reach the perfect viewpoints to observe these dancing lights in the sky.
A snowshoeing weekend to reconnect with nature
Snowshoeing is, above all, the pleasure of walking through the snow and making your own tracks. It is also about spotting animal tracks, experiencing the incomparable joy of gazing at sublime panoramas... and finally, running down the slopes to feel an inexplicable sense of freedom!
Immerse yourself in the heart of the Alps and their matchless beauty, whether you are solo, a couple, or with family! It is time to admire the scenery and take a deep breath of fresh air on the small Alpine trails...
Now it is your turn to escape for a weekend or a longer holiday!
