From the hamlet of Pont, you'll hike to the Vittorio Emanuele II refuge (2,734 m) for your first night at altitude. Led by an experienced guide, you'll learn the fundamentals of alpine progression: cramponing , rope work , and glacier travel . The next day, you'll put these techniques into practice during the ascent of Tresenta (3,609 m) , an acclimatization peak that already offers a great introduction to high-altitude mountaineering.     Meet at 10:00 AM in Pont , in the Valsavarenche valley, to meet your mountain guide . After a briefing on the route and safety instructions , you will begin the ascent to the Vittorio Emmanuel II refuge (2734 m) , accessible on foot from the hamlet. This initial hike allows for gradual acclimatization to the altitude .

    The afternoon is dedicated to an introduction to alpine progression techniques : using the ice axe , learning cramponing , basic rope techniques, and glacier safety . These initial skills are practiced on suitable terrain near the refuge.

    At the end of the day, it's time for contemplation. From the refuge's terrace, you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding peaks. Piccolo Paradiso , Herbetet , and Tresenta , which you will aim for tomorrow, stand out against the evening light.

  1. Guide supervision: You will be supervised during these 3 days by Patrick, our experienced high mountain guide.
  2. Accommodation: You will sleep two nights in the Vittorio Emmanuel II Refuge, a comfortable high mountain refuge with Italian cuisine that is worth the trip.
  3. Half-board meals: All meals are included except for packed lunches. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy delicious Italian cuisine after your days outdoors.

The price does not include

  1. Return transport to the meeting point in the village of Pont.
  2. Lunch picnics, which can be ordered directly from the refuge.
  3. Technical equipment such as crampons, ice axes, harnesses, helmets, and safety gear is not included. You can reserve the rental package in the next step of your booking.
