    Mountaineering

    Beginner
Mountaineering is a demanding sport; consequently, there is no "beginner" physical level for it. If you have never mountaineered before, you can aim for an intermediate or advanced level.
    Intermediate
For fit hikers who wish to experience the high mountains. No specific mountaineering skills are required; the crampon work is straightforward. Guides are on hand to provide instruction and ensure your safety. The daily elevation gain generally ranges from 700 to a maximum of 1,000 meters.
    Confirmed
For those who engage in endurance or mountain sports (running, cycling, trail running, rock climbing, trekking, etc.) three or more times a week. You are capable of hiking for long hours in the mountains and ascending around 1,500 meters in a single day. Ideally, you have some prior high-altitude experience (such as walking in crampons), though this is not essential if you are in excellent physical condition. To aid acclimatization, it is recommended to go mountain hiking in the days leading up to the trip.
    Advanced
For those who regularly practice endurance or mountain sports (running, cycling, trail running, rock climbing, trekking, etc.)—at least four times a week. You are capable of hiking for over eight hours in the mountains and ascending between 1,500 and 2,000 vertical meters in a single day. You have mastered crampon techniques. Prior mountaineering experience (ascents or ice training) is mandatory.
    Expert
For those in excellent physical condition who regularly engage in mountain activities (rock climbing, mountaineering, ice climbing, etc.): you have mastered mountaineering techniques and are capable of undertaking climbs rated D or higher.

Having rented my equipment from Intersport, I noticed that the partner also provided everything except shoes. However, the partner can accompany you during the rental process. I highly recommend the partner and their guide, Danilo, for these glacier excursions. The partner is the service provider and takes care of everything. Regarding the physical and technical level, it was quite high for me, and I sometimes had some doubts, but the guide was excellent. As for Decathlon's Flex insurance, I don't recommend it because they don't respond promptly if you have a question.

Superb adventure...but not really any follow-up, information and support after receiving the balance; it was up to us to go and find the information, to make contact after several attempts.

You should more clearly state the prerequisites for mountaineering; some participants weren't ready, either physically or mentally. The mountains, and mountaineering in particular, are serious activities. I encourage you to thoroughly assess people's skill levels, as this impacts other clients and helps us achieve our goals.

Hello Christophe,

Thank you for your feedback. This course is advertised as “intermediate” level: it is intended for very good walkers, with good physical condition.

Your point about the importance of the participants' skill level is valid. We will strengthen our preparatory discussions to ensure greater homogeneity within the groups.

The trip went very well. The Via Ferrata was fabulous. The scenery was breathtaking, both Gran Paradiso and Monte Rosa. The food in the mountain huts is good; you won't go hungry, quite the opposite! The guide did everything she could to ensure we could reach the top and climb each summit safely!
