Wild and wintery immersion in Iceland

Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Reykjavík to begin our adventure exploring the entire south coast of Iceland. We'll visit the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls before walking on the black sand beach of Reynisfjara . We'll continue our journey eastward, where we'll soon begin to see spectacular glaciers and Iceland's highest mountains, until we arrive at our overnight accommodation.

Northern Lights | During your out-of-town stay on your private tour, your guide will take you on an aurora borealis hunt for an evening. They will monitor the forecast and weather conditions to determine the best night for this experience. Some evenings may require a short drive to an optimal viewing spot, while other times the best location may be right outside your hotel. Your guide will give you tips on what to look for to spot the aurora.

Today, we begin with a visit to the magnificent Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, one of our favorite spots in Iceland. In the morning, we'll admire the icebergs floating on the lagoon as they drift towards the glacial river before washing up on the black sands of Diamond Beach . Keep an eye out for curious seals swimming among the ice floes or basking on them. After a leisurely exploration, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch to relax and soak in this breathtaking setting.

After lunch, we'll begin our ice cave adventure on one of the glacial tongues of the vast Vatnajökull glacier. We'll traverse rugged terrain in one of our partners' specialized super jeeps to reach a remote area of ​​the glacier. From there, we'll hike to explore one of the region's fascinating blue ice caves. The striking blue hues and unique textures of the ice are true works of natural art, offering an unforgettable experience. Enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner at the hotel, surrounded by breathtaking Icelandic scenery.

After a few days packed with great adventures, it's time to slow down for a more relaxed day. We'll take our time heading back west along the south coast, stopping at more of the region's exceptional sites. We'll start with an easy hike along the jagged ridges of the canyon with the unpronounceable name: Fjaðrárgljúfur .

Once we arrive in Vík , we'll have lunch in this picturesque village. After lunch, it's time to pick up the pace with an ATV buggy excursion , allowing us to enjoy spectacular views as we speed along the vast black sand beaches to the iconic DC3 plane wreck. Afterward, your guide can explore other sites along the south coast with you, depending on the time available, before returning to your accommodation.

Today, we're venturing off the beaten path for an extraordinary journey. Our trusted partners will meet us nearby, ready to guide you on a day of discovery in Þórsmörk , a lush mountain valley. Together, we'll travel in their specialized super jeep , capable of traversing glacial rivers and the most varied terrain, making a series of captivating stops.

We'll begin with a hike to the breathtaking Stakkholtsgjá canyon, a true natural wonder. From there, we'll venture deeper into the Þórsmörk valley, a pristine nature reserve nestled between the Mýrdalsjökull , Tindfjallajökull , and the iconic Eyjafjallajökull glaciers. Here, you can immerse yourself in Iceland's wild beauty, admire the scenery, and enjoy some short hikes. Afterward, you'll return to your hotel for the night.

Once we've completed our departure formalities this morning, we'll set off to explore the famous sites of the Golden Circle : the powerful Gullfoss waterfall, the erupting geysers, and the Geysir geothermal area. Afterwards, we'll visit the nearby Friðheimar tomato greenhouse for a delicious lunch amidst the fields. It's a truly unique experience!

We'll end the day with a visit to one of Iceland's most historic and impressive sites: Þingvellir National Park . This is where the tectonic plates diverge, and it's also where the very first Icelandic parliament was established shortly after settlement. From there, it's just a short drive to our accommodation in Reykjavík .

Today marks the last day of your Icelandic adventure! Enjoy the morning swimming and relaxing in the Blue Lagoon . A private driver will pick you up from your accommodation and transfer you to Keflavík Airport (KEF) for your return flight; the airport is just a short drive away.
