We may need to modify the indicated itinerary: availability of accommodation at the time of booking, changes in trail conditions, or decisions made by the guide (weather, group level, etc.). These modifications are always made in your best interest, for your safety and comfort!
The cultural program proposed above can only be indicative, as visits are subject to the vagaries of the opening times of sites and monuments.
We will follow the route of the most beautiful hilltop villages of the French Riviera and the hinterland of Nice. This journey will also be an immersion in the history of regional painting, through the decorated chapels and altarpieces of churches, testaments to the school of the Primitives of Nice, of which Louis Bréa was the emblematic figure at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries. Finally, it will lead us to the heart of a religious heritage marked by the splendor and exuberance of the Baroque.
This circuit combines hiking and cultural discovery, in varying proportions depending on the stage. It broadly follows the route of the old "Royal Road," created by the Savoyard sovereigns to connect Nice to Piedmont via the Col de Tende. Although entirely in a mountainous area, the route never exceeds 1200 meters in altitude, making it a pleasant hike both in late winter and late autumn.
