Snowshoeing
For those wishing to undertake multi-day hikes involving over 6 hours of walking and 1,000 meters of elevation gain, off-trail or on rugged terrain. High-altitude sections are possible. You engage in endurance sports 2 to 3 times a week, hike regularly, and are in excellent physical condition.

Hikes rated level 4 out of 5 for fit walkers. You are athletic and experienced hiker with mountain walking experience and already practice snowshoeing.
You are in good physical condition and are able to sustain an effort of 5 to 7 hours of walking and 700 to 1000 meters of elevation gain.

Arrival in Névache in the afternoon and check-in at the hotel. In the early evening, a welcome drink provides an opportunity to get to know the group. Dinner is followed by a presentation of the week's program .
Day 1 -
Gueyta Alpine Pasture

After a short transfer to Ville-Haute, just 5 minutes from the hotel, we ascend into the upper valley to the Sainte Barbe chapel, before climbing to the Biaune chalets on a south-facing slope. Above the chalets, a vast playground unfolds before us in these rolling alpine pastures! We can aim for the small Col de la Colette (2597m), or continue up the slope before descending back to Névache. During the hike, we'll take the time to review the operation of avalanche victim search equipment.
Day 2 -
Pointe Muratière

Starting directly above the hotel on the south-facing slope, we ascend through the forest towards the fabulous Thures plateau, a classic of the valley, offering an extraordinary atmosphere with its vast expanse open to the sky. We cross this snow-covered steppe to reach the small, rounded summit of Pointe Muratière (2379m), from where the panorama opens up to the north, encompassing Mont Thabor and the narrow valley.

Granon Valley

An early morning transfer takes us to the neighboring village of Val-des-Prés to hike up into the Bois de l'Infernet forest. 500 meters higher, we discover the small hamlets of Caro and Granon nestled under their blanket of snow. From here, numerous options await for exploring the alpine pastures or the forests of the valley, offering us beautiful winter scenery.

Echaillon Ridge

Today we head back up into the valley, this time taking the north-facing slope to reach the Buffère valley, a climb that's well worth the effort: it's steep, but thankfully not too long. Once there, however, it's a hiker's paradise, a large valley with gentle, welcoming slopes where we'll find our bliss. One possible (and ambitious) route is to reach a small summit on the Echaillon ridge at 2576 meters.

Vallon des Acles

The Acles valley is an area we rarely visit, and winter makes it quite isolated! Once we've passed through the narrow Cléïda pass and the hardest part is behind us, a vast territory unfolds before us, reminiscent of the far north! A domain to explore with our eyes peeled, hoping to spot the abundant wildlife that inhabits it!

After breakfast, check-out is at 10:00 AM. Snowshoeing or skiing is possible, but without supervision. Picnic lunches are available (supplement of €12 per person), and you can stay until the shuttle departs for the night train.

This program gives you a taste of the fun! This program is subject to weather and snow conditions. Your guide will adapt the route accordingly. The quantity and quality of the snow will affect the group's ability to reach the objective!

Located in the hamlet of Roubion, at the entrance to Névache, the hotel welcomes hikers, visitors, and vacationers alike, offering a refined mountain style with comfort and light . Close to the cross-country ski trails and just steps from the Clarée River, with its clear, pristine waters, the setting invites contemplative relaxation . In high season, the shuttle bus to the valley is only a 3-minute walk from the hotel. Guests can enjoy the hotel bar, its lounge area with a fireplace, and two outdoor terraces, one facing south and the other east. The hotel also offers a wellness area where you can unwind after a busy day! A drying room for wet or damp shoes and clothing is available on the garden level, with immediate access upon returning from activities. The meals, prepared by our chef using local produce, are carefully prepared and tailored to athletes… our fresh mountain air whets the appetite and encourages you to savor the food!

From Paris, you have several options:
- Either by arriving on the Italian side via the TGV PARIS-OULX. From this station you will need to take a direct bus to Briançon (tickets must be purchased 48 hours in advance on the SNCF website).
- Either take the train Paris / Grenoble + bus Grenoble / Briançon (ZOU line 55)
- Either arriving directly via Paris/Briançon, by night train or daytime trains
From Marseille or Valence, there are direct TER trains to Briançon.
To travel from Briançon to Névache:
- Either by regular shuttle (during the season from 20/12/2026 to 06/03/2027)
- Either by taxi or private transport depending on the schedule and the number of people

You can drive to the hotel, where there is a large parking lot. We'll keep this description brief, given that in this modern age, GPS is standard equipment in our cars and on our phones.
From the south, you go up the Durance valley to reach Briançon.
From the north and west, you can, like cyclists, take the Lautaret Pass and its spectacular views, or choose the comfort (and the price) of crossing into Italy via the Fréjus Tunnel, a road version of the ambitious railway project of the mid-18th century. Consider carpooling!
