Travel:
For this trip, you will need your own vehicle to reach the starting points of the hiking trails. Journeys take 10 to 20 minutes. Méaudre is located at an altitude of 1,000 meters. You will therefore be in a mountain environment; snow equipment is MANDATORY (snow tires/chains).
Course :
Snowshoe routes are designed to follow the easiest possible routes in winter orientation.
The snowshoeing times were calculated based on a pace of 250 meters of elevation gain per hour uphill, 500 meters per hour downhill, and 3.5 km per hour on flat terrain, in order to allow for a comparison of the different hikes on the same basis. It is, of course, obvious that when snowshoeing, the estimated time is only a guideline. Experienced hikers on hard snow will find the times overestimated, while less experienced hikers on fresh snow will find them significantly underestimated.
Remarks :
We may sometimes need to make slight changes to the program, whether due to organizational issues, weather conditions, exceptional circumstances such as a pandemic, etc. Rest assured, these changes are always made in your best interest, for your safety and comfort!
Snow cover:
You are first and foremost lovers of the great outdoors. If there is a lack of snow, the routes are accessible in all seasons.
