Seasons and hikes
From October to November:
At this time of year, snow doesn't always cover northern Norway. Therefore, most hikes are done on foot. As conditions can vary from year to year, our guides also carry snowshoes if needed.
Starting in early December:
Winter has settled in for good, and snowfall has become more abundant. Hiking then takes place on snowshoes, a fun and accessible way to discover the snowy landscapes.
Light and winter conditions
From October to November, then from February to March:
The days offer several hours of natural light. In autumn, the hues are soft and ever-changing, while from February onward the light gradually increases, creating stunning contrasts across the snow-covered landscapes. Each week brings a little more light, transforming the atmosphere and the panoramas.
From December to January:
This is the period of the polar night. The sun does not cross the horizon, but a diffuse and colored light nevertheless illuminates several hours of the day, creating a unique and particularly photogenic atmosphere.
Depending on the duration of the outings and the time of year, the use of a headlamp may be necessary.
Northern Lights
The Northern Lights are natural phenomena that are as fascinating as they are unpredictable. Their appearance depends on solar activity and the clarity of the sky: they can therefore never be 100% guaranteed.
