The fourth stage of this Fisterra and Muxía Way. It is one of the most interesting from the point of view of material heritage, with the added attraction of ending in Muxía, the first major pilgrim objective of this route and another possible end of the Way of St. James.
The Way passes through localities like O Trasulfe or San Martiño de Ozón, with its immense hórreo, one of the largest in Galicia.
In the final kilometers before Muxía, you'll face a short but demanding climb, passing the ancient San Xiao de Moraime monastery, dating back to the 12th century. Inside, it houses some very interesting and rare Renaissance paintings depicting sins and death.
From there, you will finally descend towards Muxía. Just one kilometer will then separate you from the sanctuary of Nosa Señora da Barca. According to tradition, it was there that the apostle Saint James saw the Virgin Mary appear to him in a boat, in gratitude for his work of evangelization.
From Punta da Barca, you can admire the Camariñas estuary, with the Cabo Vilán lighthouse in the background, and enjoy this rocky coastline steeped in history. Take your time. You can then return to the center of Muxía, get a Muxiana beer , and relax.
