    Levels

    Beginner
For those wishing to discover mountain biking, enduro, or "All Mountain" riding, and who have little or no experience mountain biking in the mountains. You want to learn the essential technical skills for both descending and climbing on rideable trails.
    Intermediate
For occasional mountain bikers. You are comfortable shifting gears and modulating your braking, and you can clear obstacles by unweighting the bike. You will ride on 4x4 tracks that offer a gradual progression, though you may encounter the occasional steep section. Daily elevation gain is approximately 400 to 600 meters.
    Confirmed
For mountain bikers who are already enthusiasts with some riding experience. You have mastered gear shifting and braking control, and are able to clear obstacles by unweighting the bike, as well as ride up or down short, steep sections. Ideal for riders looking to improve their descending skills on singletrack trails that are rarely very steep but sometimes technical (rocks, roots, etc.) without being exposed, featuring daily elevation gains of 600 to 1,000 meters.
    Advanced
For mountain bikers who are already skilled descenders and confident in their technique. You are capable of navigating switchbacks, riding along off-camber trails without hesitation, controlling your braking, and clearing small obstacles (such as roots, rocks, and steps). The long, sustained descents—which increase in difficulty throughout the week—are sometimes steep, often technical, and occasionally exposed, though rarely dangerous. Expect daily elevation gains of between 800m and 1,400m.
    Expert
For experts and experienced, regular riders. You are capable of navigating switchbacks and off-camber trails, controlling your braking, and clearing obstacles such as roots, rocks, and steps. The descents are long and sustained—often steep, technical, and sometimes exposed. You are looking to challenge yourself with daily elevation changes of 1,400 to 2,000 meters.

The expert's opinion

The West Bali Tour is designed for experienced mountain bikers comfortable on varied terrain, including 4x4 tracks, jungle trails, local roads, and technical sections on narrow paths. The route alternates between plains, valleys, and steep hills, with elevation gains approaching 1,800 meters on the Jatiluwih–Belimbing stage, the most demanding of the circuit. The average daily cycling time is 4 to 6 hours, covering distances between 17 and 55 km depending on the stage. To ensure everyone can fully enjoy the scenery, the tour includes high-performance electric mountain bikes: these allow riders to confidently tackle the most challenging climbs and enjoy every descent with ease. Two rest days are included in the program—one in Pemuteran on the northwest coast, the other in Ubud, Bali's cultural capital—to recover between the more challenging stages and to enjoy optional activities (trekking on Mount Batur, hiking in Sidemen). The pace is adjusted locally by our French-speaking guide according to the group's level and preferences, in a friendly and safe environment. Good general fitness and regular mountain biking experience are essential to fully enjoy the experience.

Management

The paper roadbook contains all the information directly in your bag.
Paper Roadbook

This trip is designed around a detailed printed Roadbook, which you will receive before departure. It contains all the essential information: a day-by-day itinerary, GPS tracks, points of interest, practical advice, emergency contacts, and cultural information about the regions you will be traveling through. This gives you complete freedom to set your own pace and make your own stops while knowing exactly where you are going. Our local team is available 24/7 to answer your questions and coordinate accommodations, transfers, and activities. Each day has been carefully planned so you can enjoy the landscapes, encounters, and rich culture of Bali at your own pace, without any time constraints. The Roadbook is written in French and is easy to use, even for a first trip with some independent travel.

Management

Security

The safety of our travelers is our top priority. Before each day, the support team checks the condition of the bikes (brakes, drivetrain, tire pressure) and conducts a thorough briefing on the route, technical sections, and the day's weather conditions. Each participant receives a helmet that meets safety standards, gloves, and a repair kit, and a first-aid kit accompanies the group at every stage. The e-bikes are recent models, well-maintained, and adapted to each rider's body type. Our local guide is trained in first aid and is available 24/7 throughout the trip. Medical assistance has been identified at each stage (clinics, hospitals, pharmacies), with emergency contacts included in the RoadBook. The routes have been tested multiple times to guarantee their reliability and safety, avoiding the busiest roads. In case of adverse weather conditions (heavy rain, slippery roads, local events), the program can be adjusted or a transfer by vehicle arranged to ensure the comfort and safety of the group. Purchasing assistance/repatriation insurance is strongly recommended before departure.
