    Levels

    Beginner
For those wishing to discover mountain biking, enduro, or "All Mountain" riding, and who have little or no experience mountain biking in the mountains. You want to learn the essential technical skills for both descending and climbing on rideable trails.
    Intermediate
For occasional mountain bikers. You are comfortable shifting gears and modulating your braking, and you can clear obstacles by unweighting the bike. You will ride on 4x4 tracks that offer a gradual progression, though you may encounter the occasional steep section. Daily elevation gain is approximately 400 to 600 meters.
    Confirmed
For mountain bikers who are already enthusiasts with some riding experience. You have mastered gear shifting and braking control, and are able to clear obstacles by unweighting the bike, as well as ride up or down short, steep sections. Ideal for riders looking to improve their descending skills on singletrack trails that are rarely very steep but sometimes technical (rocks, roots, etc.) without being exposed, featuring daily elevation gains of 600 to 1,000 meters.
    Advanced
For mountain bikers who are already skilled descenders and confident in their technique. You are capable of navigating switchbacks, riding along off-camber trails without hesitation, controlling your braking, and clearing small obstacles (such as roots, rocks, and steps). The long, sustained descents—which increase in difficulty throughout the week—are sometimes steep, often technical, and occasionally exposed, though rarely dangerous. Expect daily elevation gains of between 800m and 1,400m.
    Expert
For experts and experienced, regular riders. You are capable of navigating switchbacks and off-camber trails, controlling your braking, and clearing obstacles such as roots, rocks, and steps. The descents are long and sustained—often steep, technical, and sometimes exposed. You are looking to challenge yourself with daily elevation changes of 1,400 to 2,000 meters.

The expert's opinion

This route covers approximately 518 km spread over 12 days, with stages of 30 to 70 km per day and varying elevation gains depending on the section. Some days feature up to 900 m of elevation gain, mainly on tracks and small roads.

Thanks to the electric bike (with a range adapted to each stage), volcanic climbs and more challenging sections remain accessible. The assistance allows you to adjust the effort to your level and manage long ascents with confidence.

This trip is designed for active beginners or occasional cyclists who are used to regular physical activity (walking, hiking, recreational cycling). You don't need to be an experienced cyclist, but you must be able to complete several consecutive days of activity.

The planned transfers on certain sections also allow the effort to be modulated if necessary.

In summary: an accessible yet dynamic trip, ideal for discovering adventure with confidence.

Note

The program is provided as a guide and may be modified at any time depending on local conditions. In Indonesia, certain factors beyond our control may impact the organization of the trip: weather conditions (rain, extreme heat, wind), volcanic activity, road or track conditions, construction work, local events, administrative constraints, decisions of the authorities, ferry schedules or transport delays.

Our local partner reserves the right to adapt the routes, distances, travel times, departure times, order of stages and accommodations if necessary, in order to guarantee the safety of the participants and the smooth running of the trip.

Transfer times are estimates and may vary depending on traffic and local conditions.

Some outdoor activities (volcano climbing, turtle watching, forest hikes, boat trips) remain dependent on weather conditions and local permits. They may be cancelled, postponed, or replaced without refunds.
