Trekking in the Bale Mountains, through all habitats

Morning flight from Addis Ababa to Robe (Bae Mountains Airport).

Upon arrival:

1. Meet your trekking team and transfer to Dinsho headquarters (~30 min drive)
2. Coffee/tea break and briefing
3. Start of a short acclimatization hike around Dinsho, where you can observe:
4. The Mountain Nyala
5. Menelik's Guib
6. Warthogs, reedbucks, Cape duikers, baboons

Bird life includes:

1. The Abyssinian Flycatcher
2. The Wattled Ibis
3. The Abyssinian Parophasm

Located in a beautiful juniper forest, it is a perfect introduction to the park.

Night: Dinsho Campsite (3,100 m above sea level)

After breakfast, begin your trek to Habera.

Highlights of the day:

1. Hiking through the picturesque Web Valley
2. Arrival at the Fincha Habera waterfall, where the Web and Wolla rivers meet
3. First good chances of spotting the Ethiopian Wolf
4. Rich birdlife, including the Winged Goose

Enjoy the vast open landscapes and the wild and authentic nature of the Bale mountains.

Night: Habera Campsite (3,500 m altitude)

The trek continues through spectacular high mountain landscapes.

Key features:

1. Passage through the Mararo Valley
2. Birds of prey observation, such as the Bearded Vulture and Verreaux's Eagle
3. Opportunities to see Ethiopian wolves and endemic birds
4. The landscape becomes more spectacular as you gain altitude.

Night: Wasema Campsite (3,900 m altitude)

This trek takes you to the Sanetti plateau, the highest plateau in Africa.

Key features:

1. Crossing through stunning Afro-alpine moors
2. Exploring the Worgona Valley
3. Observation: Ethiopian wolf, falcons and other birds of prey
4. Passing near alpine lakes and unique high-altitude vegetation
5. This is one of the most scenic and unique trekking days in Ethiopia.

Night: Sanetti Campsite (4,100 m above sea level)

After breakfast, return to your vehicle and drive towards Harenna Forest.

Highlights along the way:

1. Chance of spotting the Ethiopian Wolf and the Abyssinian Hare
2. Birdlife: Winged Goose, Wattled Crane, Ruddy Shelduck

In the Harenna forest:

1. Guided walk to the waterfalls and bamboo forest
2. Observation of the Bale Monkey, an endemic species
3. Discovering Ethiopia's second largest rainforest
4. After the visit, transfer to Robe airport and return flight to Addis Ababa.
