Please dress in hiking gear, with your backpack ready, water in your bottle, and your hiking boots on. We will leave your luggage with the taxi driver. For our first group picnic, in addition to what we've prepared, we would appreciate it if each participant brought a specialty from their home region, so we can begin the hike with some enriching cultural exchanges. We'll set off for the Petit Balcon Sud, facing Mont Blanc and its famous peaks, and then head to Les Houches to take the Bellevue cable car. We'll leave the hustle and bustle of the Chamonix valley for the tranquility of the Bionnassay valley, at the foot of the Aiguille du Goûter and the normal route to Mont Blanc. Overnight in Bionnassay, at the end of the Contamines valley.

This is one of the most beautiful hikes I've ever done. We had Patrice as our guide; he's incredibly knowledgeable and kind. We shared some truly special moments with the group—we could easily become friends, it was magical! It's a challenging trail. Our guide also knew how to reassure us when there were tricky sections and gave us confidence; we all pushed ourselves to the limit! What a wonderful adventure!

A truly wonderful trip with magnificent scenery, very different on the French, Italian, and Swiss sides. You do need to be in very good physical condition, as there are nearly 170km to cover over 10 days and 10,000m of elevation gain (and therefore also loss). Be aware of bedbugs in the mountain huts. A highly recommended trip.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this first group hiking experience. The group cohesion was good, and we got along very well from our first meeting at the Chamonix train station. A minor point regarding our guide: I didn't always understand his decision-making process for choosing one route variation over another. I also didn't understand why someone (a woman over 65) was left alone by the side of the road and told to find her own way to the next gîte (mountain hut). As for the various gîtes and mountain huts, no particular comments, as you know what to expect when embarking on such a hike, but overall it was fine.
