After breakfast at the gîte, we head to the Col du Rousset (10 km, about 15 minutes by carpooling or personal car).
This is where our journey into nature begins, in the heart of the Vercors High Plateaus , the largest terrestrial nature reserve in France.
Here, there is no set itinerary : each day, the path unfolds with the group, depending on the weather, the energy of the moment, and what the mountain inspires in us. We will journey through landscapes that are both gentle and powerful—endless alpine pastures, mossy forests, hidden clearings, and panoramic ridges, offering a rare sense of space and freedom.
The Queyrie plain, the foot of the Grand Veymont, the Combeau valley, Tête Chevalière, Chaumailloux, the Lautaret cross… are some of the places we can explore if the course of the journey leads us there.
The pace is leisurely , punctuated by long pauses , silent observations, and moments of wonder.
The Vercors is a true sanctuary for wildlife : marmots, chamois, ibex, bearded vultures, griffon vultures… so many possible encounters that will slow our pace and open our eyes.
In the late afternoon, we'll search together for a campsite : a plateau open to the stars, a secluded hollow, or a viewpoint to watch the sunset . All that will remain is to find a water source, set up camp, refresh ourselves, cook… and simply live in the moment. A mess hall tipi will provide shelter for sharing meals in case of bad weather.
Every morning and every evening, a sharing circle invites participants to discuss what they are experiencing, either individually or within the group.
Workshops in stretching, gentle yoga, meditation or gratitude punctuate the day, depending on the momentum of the group and the conditions of the moment, often at dawn or upon arrival at the bivouac.
