In a few words

The Vercors is the gateway to the Northern Alps, a Pre-Alps massif, classified as a Regional Natural Park for 40 years, it is a true oasis of nature!

Discover it via a more secluded route: "The Tour of the 3 Valleys and 4 Mountains." Throughout this multi-day hike, you'll explore the northernmost part of the Vercors: the Land of the Four Mountains and the Coulmes . These rolling trails will lead you to encounters with pastoral life and charming houses with slate gables . You might even spot chamois, deer, or marmots! As the seasons change, you'll marvel at the abundant flora characteristic of the Prealps: blue gentian, rose fireweed, and more. The lush summer vegetation will give way to a palette of warm, golden colors in autumn.

You will also have the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine : from ravioli with Royans walnuts to the many local cheeses (Bleu, St Marcellin...)!

This is a self-guided , itinerant trip (without a guide). You will spend 2 nights in a dormitory and 3 nights in a private room. Luggage transport is optional.

The highlights

  • Discover two emblematic cantons of the Vercors: the Pays des 4 Montagnes and the Coulmes
  • 2 nights in a mountain refuge for a truly nature-focused stay, including waking up to a view of Mont Blanc!
  • A multi-day hiking trip accessible by public transport from Grenoble.

The expert's opinion

You are used to hiking in the mountains and completing several days of treks with significant elevation gain. You know how to follow a route, read a map, and navigate. You don't need to be an expert for this trip, but a good level of fitness is required. Several routes will be offered on some days.
