In a few words

The Rongai route , a 6-day trek, offers a scenic and secluded ascent of Kilimanjaro via its north face , on the Kenyan border. Still relatively unfrequented, this route provides an immersion in wild and unspoiled nature, far from the hustle and bustle of the more popular routes.

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport , you will be taken care of and driven to the Salinero Hotel , where a full briefing with the support team precedes departure.

The trek begins at the Rongai Gate and traverses a diverse range of spectacular ecosystems : rainforests, alpine moors, lunar landscapes, and finally, the glaciers of Uhuru Peak , Africa's highest point. Gradual acclimatization and the support of experienced guides ensure a safe and rewarding experience.

The descent follows the Marangu road , allowing for a complete crossing of the mountain range . You then return to the comfort of the hotel for a final moment of relaxation.

To extend the trip, safari or beach extensions in Zanzibar are available, perfect for discovering all the riches of Tanzania .

Our guides are highly experienced in the prevention, detection and treatment of altitude sickness, as they supervise more than 800 mountaineers per year.

Our guides perform two daily health checks using a pulse oximeter to monitor your oxygen saturation and heart rate.

Our guides use the Lake Louise Altitude Sickness System (LLSS) to determine if you are experiencing symptoms of altitude sickness and to assess their severity.

Our guides are certified "Wilderness First Responder" (WFR). They have the necessary skills to make critical medical and evacuation decisions on site.

Our staff carry bottled oxygen on all climbs and can quickly administer it to climbers suffering from moderate or severe altitude sickness.

Our staff carries a portable stretcher on the northern routes to evacuate climbers who need to descend but cannot walk on their own. Wheeled stretchers provided by the park are available on the other routes.

Our staff is able to initiate a helicopter evacuation through Kilimanjaro MedAir, an air rescue operation.

Our staff carry a first aid kit to treat scrapes, cuts, and blisters.
