In a few words

Opt for the most comprehensive Kilimanjaro route , the North Route , renowned for its optimal acclimatization and exceptional success rate . This unique route circumnavigates the mountain to the north, offering rare panoramas and a gentle ascent to the summit.

From Londorossi Gate , the ascent begins in a lush rainforest before reaching the heights of the Shira Plateau . For several days, the landscapes unfold – volcanic ridges, high-altitude moors, and spectacular views – at the pace of a gradual and well-planned hike . Passing by Moir Hut , Buffalo Camp , and School Hut , you will circumnavigate the massif on a less-traveled loop , allowing for a wilder and less crowded approach to the mountain.

The final ascent is made via the eastern slope, with a safe arrival at the summit, before a more direct descent via the Mweka road . An unforgettable experience on the slopes of Africa's highest peak, designed for those who want to maximize their chances of success while fully enjoying the diverse landscapes that Kilimanjaro offers.

The highlights

  • The longest route, offering excellent acclimatization.

Security

Our guides are highly experienced in the prevention, detection and treatment of acute mountain sickness, as they accompany more than 800 climbers a year.

They perform two daily health checks using a pulse oximeter to monitor your oxygen saturation and heart rate.

They also use the Lake Louise Rating System (LLSS) to determine if you are experiencing symptoms of altitude sickness and to assess their severity.

Our guides are certified Wilderness First Responders (WFR). They have the skills and equipment necessary to make critical medical decisions and organize an evacuation on site.

Our staff carry bottled oxygen on all climbs and can administer it quickly in case of moderate or severe altitude sickness.

On the northern routes, our team carries a portable stretcher to evacuate climbers unable to walk. Wheeled stretchers provided by the park are available on the other routes.

Our staff is able to initiate a helicopter evacuation via Kilimanjaro MedAir, an air rescue operation.

We also carry a first aid kit to treat minor scrapes, cuts and blisters.
