Julius Philip

Julius Philip is a professional Kilimanjaro mountain guide with extensive experience leading climbers on Mount Kilimanjaro. He guides travelers throughout the Marangu Route, managing the pace, providing daily briefings, monitoring acclimatization, advising on route decisions, and overseeing safety during the summit night. His role is to help travelers progress safely and confidently from the Marangu Gate, through Mandara Hut, Horombo Hut, Kibo Hut, Uhuru Peak, and back to the Marangu Gate.

The ascent is led by professional Kilimanjaro mountain guides who accompany travelers throughout the trek. The guide team manages the pace, daily briefings, acclimatization schedule, route decisions, and safety during the night at the summit. The guides speak French and English, and assistant guides are added depending on the group size to maintain close supervision on the mountain. The guides are supported by a skilled mountain team, including cooks and porters, who assist with meal preparation, luggage transport, and daily trek logistics.

Management

Security

This Kilimanjaro climb is fully guided and supported throughout the trek. All travelers are accompanied by professional mountain guides and a qualified support team. The team monitors the travelers' health during the climb, carefully manages the pace, and provides daily briefings on the route, altitude, weather, and safety procedures. The 6-day Marangu Route includes an acclimatization day at Horombo Hut before continuing to Kibo Hut and the summit attempt. The summit night is the most demanding stage; it is managed at a slow and steady pace, under the close supervision of the guides from Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, as well as during the descent back to Horombo Hut.

Other supervisors

The mountain support team includes assistant guides, cooks, and porters. The porters carry the permitted luggage for the mountain and manage daily logistics between the mountain huts. The cook prepares meals during the climb, while the assistant guides help lead the group on the trekking days, the acclimatization day in Horombo, and the night at the summit. All team members work together to ensure the climb is organized, safe, and comfortable.
