Julius Philip

Julius Philip is a professional Kilimanjaro mountain guide with extensive experience leading climbers on Mount Kilimanjaro. He supports travelers throughout the trek by managing the pace, leading daily briefings, monitoring acclimatization, guiding route choices, and overseeing safety during the final night ascent. His role is to help travelers progress safely and confidently at every stage of the Lemosho Route, from the western approach to Uhuru Peak, and then on the descent to Mweka Gate.

The ascent is led by professional Kilimanjaro mountain guides who accompany travelers throughout the trek. The guide team manages the pace, daily briefings, acclimatization schedule, route selection, and safety during the final night ascent. The guides speak French and English, and assistant guides are added depending on the group size to maintain close supervision on the mountain. The guides are supported by a skilled mountain team, including cooks and porters, who participate in setting up camp, preparing meals, transporting luggage, and managing the daily logistics of the trek.

Management

Security

This Kilimanjaro climb is fully guided and assisted throughout the trek. All travelers are accompanied by professional mountain guides and a qualified support team. The team monitors the travelers' fitness during the ascent, carefully manages the pace, and provides daily briefings on the route, altitude, weather, and safety procedures. Safety assistance includes first aid, oxygen, pulse oximeter checks, and communication equipment. The 8-day Lemosho route promotes gradual acclimatization through the western approach, the Shira Plateau, Moir Hut, Lava Tower, Barranco Camp, and Karanga Camp before reaching Barafu Camp. The summit night is managed at a slow and steady pace, under the close supervision of the guides, from Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and then on the descent to Mweka Camp.

Other supervisors

The mountain support team includes assistant guides, cooks, and porters. The porters carry camping equipment and permitted mountaineering gear, set up camp, and manage daily logistics. The cook prepares meals during the climb, while the assistant guides help supervise the group during the hiking days, acclimatization phases, and the night at the summit. All team members work together to ensure an organized, safe, and comfortable climb.
