Between the Dordogne Gorges and Millevaches: 6 days of hiking

9:00 AM: Set off with our guide from the Montagne Limousine for a superb 12 km loop, starting directly from the campsite, with the hike "In the Heart of the Corrèze Forest" . An approximately 3-hour walk, accessible and immersive, that plunges you into the splendors of the Haute-Corrèze region.

The trail alternates between deep forests , sunlit clearings, gentle slopes, and small ridges offering beautiful views of the surrounding hills. You will walk beneath beech, oak, pine, and holly trees, soothed by birdsong and the calming silence of the forest.

A varied route, typical of Corrèze, where you can fully experience the unspoiled nature.

Accessible to regular walkers as well as families used to hiking, this route also offers great opportunities to observe local wildlife : squirrels, deer, birds of prey… or simply the details of this living forest that breathes with you.

A perfect hike to discover the soul of Haute-Corrèze: simple, wild, rejuvenating.

And after the exertion, a gentle return to the campsite , it's up to you to decide whether you want to order food from the campsite or remain free to prepare your own meal in our fully equipped accommodations.

At 9pm , we invite you to look up at the sky and discover with the Haute-Corrèze Astronomy Club our International Dark Sky Reserve (IDSR), a label obtained by the Millevaches Regional Natural Park.

9:00 am: Depart with our guide from the Montagne Limousine for a hike ≈ 11–12 km (± ~337 m D+), approximately 3 hours of walking, starting from Soursac, on the route “From Pont-Aubert to Rochers Noirs”.

The route begins at the charming Pont-Aubert lake, ideal for a swim or a picnic by the water. Next, you'll follow the old "Tacot" railway line—the little train of yesteryear— to reach the Rochers Noirs viaduct, a listed historical monument, where our guide will tell you its story . Until 1959, the viaduct was used by the "Transcorrézien," a picturesque little train that crisscrossed the countryside. The Himalayan footbridge is a passageway.

The route also leads you to the Jardin de Firmin, with a breathtaking view over the Luzège valley where you can have a picnic. You will cross forests, shaded paths, old roads, and traverse streams and dikes: an immersion in unspoiled nature, both peaceful and wild.

Accessible yet dynamic, this circuit will appeal to those who love walking, exploring and discovering.

During a 1 hour 20 minute guided walk, discover the history of the gorges and the bargemen of the Upper Dordogne.

The Milan Trail — Liginiac (6.6 km / approx. 2 h)

9:30 am: Set off with our guide from the Montagne Limousine, from the old Liginiac train station, for a 6.6 km loop hike through a typical Corrèze landscape. The trail leads you to the superb Roc Grand viewpoint—a breathtaking panorama of the Dordogne Gorges and, on a clear day, as far as the Cantal Mountains, not to mention the roaring Saut de Juillac waterfall. You'll have the opportunity, via an out-and-back section, to descend the entire length of the waterfall; easy to go down, but climbing back up... ouch, those calves!

Accessible, pleasant, and ideal at any time of year, the Sentier du Milan is one of the most charming gateways to the Haute-Corrèze region. Don't forget your binoculars: if you're lucky, a bird of prey might just fly overhead.

On your return, the Liginiacois restaurant will welcome you and serve you your lunch so that you can continue the day at the Neuvic Arboretum accompanied by a guide throughout the discovery of the park.

The Longeyroux Peat Bog – 9 or 14 km of nature & escape

9:00 AM: The trail winds through moors, peat bogs, woods, and gentle paths, alternating between cool undergrowth, verdant meadows, and mysterious wetlands. You will walk with our guide from the Montagne Limousine in an area often compared to the moors of Scotland, with its magical atmosphere, changing colors, and reflections in the water. Perhaps you will even have the pleasure of encountering our beautiful Highlands, my personal favorites.

Accessible to all walkers, the terrain remains easy: no big climbs, wide paths, a gentle slope — an ideal route to end your stay gently.

Its fauna and flora will hold no more secrets for you thanks to the guide who will reveal all the secrets of these moors.

The bus will then drop you off in the village of Meymac, giving you some free time to explore this charming village before heading to the Les Rougeries Distillery at the end of the day. Founded in 1800 by Benoît Rougerie, a master distiller, the distillery produces liqueurs made with local fruits and wild berries. Specializing in natural fruit brandies distilled using traditional methods, the distillery has been passed down through five generations, ensuring the quality and authenticity of its products.

You will end the day at the Europa Gourmand Restaurant, next to the Distillery, before returning to the campsite in the evening.

We get up slowly to enjoy a last breath of fresh air and we set off calmly for a final tailor-made guided tour of the Château de Ventadour.

For those who want to make the most of it, you can enjoy a final 3km hike starting from the Château, on the Cascades de la Vigne path.
