Our camp isn't a rigid, overly structured stay. Between sessions, you're free to wander around, relax at the camp, and explore Lagos at your own pace. However, when it comes to the surfing itself, you're always in expert hands.

  2. Small groups — a maximum of 6 surfers per instructor, to guarantee you real attention and close supervision in the water.
  3. The right beach, every day — instructors choose the safest beach based on the tide, swell and wind, and always adapt the teaching to your skill level.
  4. Spots suitable for beginners — all lessons take place on gentle beach breaks (sandy bottoms), never on reef breaks (rocky bottoms) reserved for experienced surfers.
  5. You will always receive a full safety and theory briefing before entering the water, so you know exactly what to expect.

    Over seven days, you will go from your very first "pop-up" (righting yourself up on the board) to gliding on the waves with real confidence — all on the stunning beaches of the Algarve's west coast.


    A typical day: a morning briefing on the "Happiness Sofa," a van ride to the chosen beach, about an hour and a half in the water, then a free afternoon to relax by the pool, explore Lagos' old town, or extend your time on the sand. Evenings bring everyone together at the Baraka Bar—where solo travelers quickly make friends.


    Progress is individual: most beginners manage to stand up and ride the whitewater by the second or third day, before moving on to smaller, unbroken waves (green waves) around the fourth or fifth day. Already a surfer? The lessons are adapted to help you progress further. By the end of the week, you'll leave with new skills, a great tan, a close-knit group, and an unconditional love for surfing.

Surfing is a sport dictated by nature, so our program is flexible. Each day, the beach, lesson times, and session are chosen by your instructors based on the tide, swell, and wind—with the constant goal of providing you with the safest and most suitable conditions for your level. This means that the daily schedule may vary and that lessons may take place in the morning or afternoon.


  1. The 5 surf lessons are spread over the week, and not necessarily one lesson per day.
  2. The courses take place on the beaches of the west coast of the Algarve, about 40 minutes from the camp.
  3. Progress is individual and depends on conditions, your physical condition and your experience.
  4. Breakfast and dinner are included every day; lunch is at your own expense when you are travelling and going out.
  5. In the rare event of no waves (a "flat day"), your instructors will adapt by offering theory, video analysis, surfskating, or other alternative activities—ensuring your week is always full. The first day is dedicated to arrival, registration, and the welcome meeting; your first surf session begins the following day.

Getting to us is a breeze. Fly into Faro Airport (FAO) — it's the closest, just 70 km away and about a 45-minute to 1-hour drive from the camp. For a stress-free arrival, book our airport transfer (€90 per booking, to be split between all members of your party, payable in cash upon check-in), and we'll be waiting with an AWS sign to take you straight to our door. Prefer to make your own way? Uber and Bolt services are also available from Faro.

Check-in opens at 4:00 PM at our main base: Kitehouse, Vila Calicas, Estrada da Albardeira, 8600-302 Lagos. You'll receive a warm welcome, a tour of the facilities, and everything you need to get settled in—then your first activity will begin the following day.

Arriving late or outside office hours? No problem. We'll send you instructions via WhatsApp in advance, and the team will be ready to welcome you as soon as you arrive.

Faro Airport (FAO) is located 90 km east of Lagos. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes by car via the A22 motorway (free since January 2025), or between 2 and 2.5 hours by bus. Faro offers direct flights from most major cities in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia. It is the main gateway to the entire Algarve region. There is no airport in Lagos itself. The nearest alternative is Lisbon Airport (LIS), located 300 km to the north—a useful option if you cannot find direct flights to Faro.
