Under the Peniche sun, learn to surf in one of Europe's best destinations for beginners and rapid progress. Located on a peninsula exposed to the Atlantic, the town offers a variety of spots that work in almost all conditions. If one beach isn't ideal, another will be: our team will guide you each day to the spot best suited to your level and the current conditions.


Our beginner program is designed to offer you a simple, safe, and motivating introduction to surfing, even if you've never surfed before. You'll progress on gentle, consistent waves, perfect for building confidence, understanding the basics, and experiencing your first real rides.


Groups are limited to 6 students per coach to ensure personalized attention. Technique, safety, wave reading, and individual feedback structure each session to help you progress quickly and gain independence in the water.


The stay takes place on a bed & breakfast basis to give you the freedom to cook in our equipped kitchen or to enjoy the restaurants of Peniche and its local specialties.

Christophe has been surfing for 45 years and teaching for 30. He opened one of the very first surf schools on the Moroccan coast in 1996, and has been welcoming groups in Peniche since 2007. He speaks French, English and Portuguese, which allows him to teach participants from all backgrounds without missing a single technical detail along the way.

What sets him apart is his ability to adapt to any level—whether you're a complete beginner or a surfer with a few sessions under your belt, he'll find a way to help you improve. And his passion for surfing is evident from the very first session.


Our courses are taught by experienced and certified instructors, trained in teaching surfing in an ocean environment. To guarantee optimal learning and personalized attention, we work in small groups with one instructor for a maximum of 1 to 6 participants.

Our surf house is located in the charming village of Ferrel, just minutes from the rugged coastline and about a 10-minute walk from Almagreira beach. The village center is a 5-minute walk away and offers all the necessary amenities: shops, cafes, bars, a pharmacy, and a bank. To enjoy evenings by the sea, beach bars are a 5-minute drive or taxi ride away, or a 25-30 minute walk.

The stay ends at the surf house. For the return trip, several options are available depending on your mode of transport.

By bus or taxi/private hire vehicle: The return journey to Lisbon Airport is organized in the same way as the outbound journey. From Peniche bus station, regular buses run to Lisbon bus stations, from where you can reach the airport by metro or taxi. You can also take a taxi or private hire vehicle directly from the surf house to the airport.

By car: If you've traveled by car, take the opportunity to explore the region before heading back to Lisbon. The West Coast is full of places worth visiting:

  1. Óbidos — a breathtaking fortified medieval village, just 30 minutes from Peniche. Allow at least an hour or two to wander through the narrow streets and along the ramparts.
  2. Nazaré — a must-see for surf enthusiasts. This fishing village has become world-famous for its giant waves. Even out of season, the view from the viewpoint is well worth the stop.

Both fit easily into the route back to Lisbon without much detour.

The nearest airport is Lisbon, about 1 hour 30 minutes from Peniche.


By bus: From the airport, take the metro or a taxi to one of Lisbon's two bus stations: Sete Rios or Campo Grande. Regular buses depart from both stations towards Peniche. Once you arrive at the Peniche bus station, it's a short taxi or rideshare ride to the surf house.


By taxi or ride-hailing service: You can also take a taxi or use a ride-hailing app directly from the airport to the surf house, without any stops. This is a convenient option, especially if you are traveling with others. Fares vary depending on the time of day and traffic.
