In a few words

This journey begins in Bergen , the gateway to Norway's magnificent fjords. The city is renowned for its authentic charm and vibrant atmosphere, making it an ideal starting point for exploring the region. Next, you'll head to Solund , a true haven of tranquility where seascapes blend seamlessly with rugged mountains. After a stop in Jolstraholmen , you'll venture to Kalvåg , a picturesque village, before reaching Ålesund , known for its Art Nouveau architecture and breathtaking fjord views. The trip continues to Åndalsnes and then Loen , at the foot of the Jostedalsbreen glacier , where you can enjoy activities such as via ferrata and cycling. Finally, you'll end in Balestrand , a peaceful village where you can explore the fjord by kayak before returning to Bergen to enjoy the Norwegian panoramas one last time. This balanced experience will bring you a little closer to the essence of Norway: its wild beauty and the serenity of its landscapes.

Bergen – Between sea, mountains and Hanseatic heritage

    • Accommodation 3-star hotel
    • Breakfast included
    • Lunch not included
    • Dinner not included

Your stay begins in Bergen, a port city on the west coast, nestled between the sea and the mountains. The city center is easily explored on foot, with a fairly compact layout centered around the port.

The first half-day focuses on Bryggen, the old Hanseatic quarter. The wooden facades lining the quays set the tone, but the real charm lies in the back alleys, small courtyards, and quieter lanes where workshops, galleries, and cafes can still be found. Right next door, the fish market remains a good point of reference for experiencing the rhythm of the port, between the arrival of ships and daily life.

In the afternoon, the Fløyen funicular offers a quick escape from the city center. In just a few minutes, you go from the dense urban landscape to an area of forest and wide paths. The view from the top is excellent on a clear day, but even with clouds, the appeal remains the direct transition between nature and city, with several trails easily accessible.

The second day is more flexible and largely dependent on the weather. Bergen lends itself well to changing plans: museums if it rains, such as those focused on local art and history, or a hike up Mount Ulriken, a little further from the city center, when the weather is more stable. For those who want to venture outside the city, the fjords are accessible on day trips, without necessarily having to go very far to get a glimpse of the scenery.
