But it's the afternoon that reveals the true essence of the North. Back at the lodge, a traditional lavvu (Sami tent) welcomes you for a hot meal around the fire. There, Ronald, a Sami shaman, recounts ancient myths and the magic of the dawn, while Beate gently watches over the dogs and guests. Their daughter, Lone, born among the huskies, embodies this harmony between human and animal. As night falls, a spiritual ceremony begins under a sky vibrant with the Northern Lights: joik chants, drumming, and ancestral rituals. This moment suspended between earth and sky is deeply moving.

After a relaxing morning and a delicious breakfast, head to the Várdobáiki Sámi Center, a place of remembrance and transmission. Exhibitions, stories, and testimonies offer a glimpse into the living culture of the Sámi people and their ancestral wisdom. At Husky Isogaisa, in the small mountain village of Kvernmo, everything revolves around dogs, family, and nature. What began as an unexpected litter of six puppies has become a philosophy of life. After a brief explanation, you take the reins of your own team of huskies. The icy wind whips your face, the sled glides through the whiteness, and the enthusiastic barking mingles with the silence of the snow-covered desert.

In the evening, the atmosphere becomes intimate and warm at Minde Farm, a former farmhouse transformed into an event venue. Gunn Tove Minde, a passionate Sámi shaman and guardian of traditions, welcomes you as if you were in her own home. Around a bidos, a traditional stew simmered with care, conversations flow, laughter mingles with stories of the North. Then comes the time for the joik, this ancient, deep, and vibrant chant, accompanied by the drum. The sounds resonate like a bridge between generations, between Earth and Sky. If the Northern Lights appear over the fjord, the moment becomes simply magical.

After a final breakfast in Fjellkysten, it's time to say goodbye to this haven of peace.

The road to Sortland, nicknamed the Blue City , winds its way between sparkling fjords and snow-capped mountains. After a final glimpse of Sortland, the road leads to Harstad, a coastal gem nestled between the sea and the mountains.
