This route will allow us to reach the highest viewpoint of the legendary listed site of the Emparis Plateau!
Our starting point is at Chazelet, a picturesque hamlet in La Grave, clinging to the mountainside.
After a short descent to the Gâ bridge at 1735m, the first part of this beautiful outing will warm up your thighs! Yes, you will need to gain altitude to reach the Plateau first.
We will follow a route due south and along a balcony facing the Meije glaciers towards our objective.
This whole area, with the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Pic de la Buffe d'en Haut, the Aiguilles de la Saussaz and du Goléon, attracts the eye to the North while to the South we will enjoy the many peaks of the Ecrins and the Grandes Rousses, all dressed in white.
The descent will be made, depending on your fitness level, via the Gâ valley for a beautiful and long loop.
