The Great Family Raid in Sweden

Start by exploring the cobbled streets of Gamla Stan on foot. Don't miss the Royal Palace , Stortorget Square , and Stockholm Cathedral .

Cross the Skeppsholmsbron bridge to Skeppsholmen Island for a splendid view of the city and some modern museums.

Then, on foot or by bike, explore Djurgården, a green island with several museums.

Starting at 5pm, set off on a nature discovery tour of the area around Stockholm.

In Stockholm, as always in Sweden, nature is never far away.

Just outside the city lie vast, lush forests and extensive farmland teeming with diverse wildlife. Here, moose, deer, foxes, hares, and wild boar roam undisturbed. Our wildlife safari takes place at dusk, the perfect time to encounter the animals, especially the "kings of the forest" (moose), who typically wander around at sunset to graze and search for water. Your guide will welcome you aboard our comfortable minivan before we leave the city and head towards one of Stockholm's richest wildlife areas.

Once in the wilderness and before the safari itself begins, get to know your safari companions and enjoy a traditional Swedish Midsummer meal in an open-air camp.

Join today an excursion that offers total immersion in Sweden's unique landscape: a labyrinth of 30,000 islands with crystal-clear waters and shores lined with granite and pine trees.

1. Gentle Paddling: A pace suitable for families and beginners. The double kayaks used are stable and safe, allowing children to actively participate.
2. Nature and Wildlife: Possible observation of fish eagles, seals and wild flora of uninhabited islands.

After this 2-hour excursion, continue your exploration of the city.

After enjoying Stockholm, you head south towards Örebro , a vibrant city where medieval history meets modern adventure.

Örebro's city centre is dominated by its impressive medieval castle surrounded by a moat.

1. Visit to Örebro Castle (included): The castle offers "ghost tours" (depending on the season) and treasure hunts. Guides in period costume tell tales of kings, prisoners, and sieges, bringing history to life.
2. Wadköping (Open Air Museum): Just a short walk from the castle, this historic district transports the family back to Sweden's past. Here you'll find artisans at work (blacksmith, glassblower) and charming shops selling traditional sweets.
3. Lost City (Gustavsvik Water Park): If the children still have energy, this tropical water park is one of the largest in Scandinavia with its dizzying slides and indoor jungle.

Located about 1 hour and 10 minutes away by car, Tiveden Park is one of the most spectacular parks in Sweden, famous for its giant granite boulders and mystical primeval forests.

The flagship route for families is the Stenkällerundan trail (Stone Spring Loop).

1. Distance: 2.2 km (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes).
2. A fun trail winds through monumental rockfalls dating back to the Ice Age. Children love climbing and squeezing through the "caves" formed by the boulders. The path leads to the famous Stenkällan , a natural spring nestled beneath a stone cathedral.
3. Alternative (more accessible): The Tärnekullerundan trail (1.3 km) leads to the Vitsand caves and offers magnificent views of the lake.

The afternoon can be more relaxed, perhaps by staying on Vitsand Beach: a magnificent white sand beach bordered by pine trees. It's the perfect place for a refreshing swim in the clear waters of Lake Stora Trehörningen.

Railbike expedition departing from Hultsfred

Head to Hultsfred station for an authentic Swedish experience: the railcar on the famous Smalspåret narrow gauge line.

You cycle along old railway lines that wind through dense pine forests and alongside sparkling lakes.

Railbikes are designed so that two people pedal while the others (the children) sit comfortably on a bench at the front to enjoy the scenery.

Recommended duration: Approximately 2 to 3 hours round trip.

Immersion in the World of Astrid Lindgren (Vimmerby)

This is where the stories of Pippi Longstocking , Emil of Lönneberga and Ronya, the robber's daughter, come to life.

It's not an amusement park with noisy rides, but a huge theme park made up of life-size sets.

You wander through film sets, between birch forests and traditional red farmhouses. It's a celebration of childhood and imagination.

Discovering the King of the Forest

Just a 15-minute drive away, get ready for one of the highlights of the trip: a visit to the Målilla elk park.

Unlike a traditional zoo, here you enter vast natural enclosures. You can observe these majestic animals, as well as fallow deer, up close.

Children will be delighted to be able to feed the elk only a few meters away.

The road passes through several small villages with wooden or stone churches typical of Småland, perfect for some photos of authentic rural landscapes.

Just before arriving, you can make a stop at Fallebo Gard; this natural area is ideal for a last walk in the forest or an encounter with farm animals.

End your journey by sitting on one of the longest wooden benches in Europe to watch the ferries depart for the island of Gotland. It's the perfect spot for an ice cream with the family after the drive.

Gunnarsö's rugged coastline, with its small islands and sheltered coves, is ideal for a day on the water.

On site you will find KAYAKOMAT , a self-service canoe or kayak rental system located directly at the camp.

Land on an uninhabited islet to feel like you're the only people in the world, for a short exploration or a dip in the sea. Who will be the bravest?!

Gunnarsö boasts excellent swimming areas, ranging from sandy beaches to landscaped rocks. For the more adventurous, the bungee jumping tower is a local classic!

If you prefer to stay on dry land, the camp offers mini-golf courses, playgrounds and coastal hiking trails that offer spectacular sea views.

After a week full of discoveries in Småland and the Oskarshamn archipelago, you head back north to Stockholm .
