Horse riding holiday on the island of Rømø in Denmark

This morning, after a hearty buffet breakfast, we explored the stables and met our horses. When we were assigned our horses, we received a card with a photo of our mount and its main characteristics (blaze, white markings, etc.). Our task was to find them in the respective paddocks for the geldings and mares. We were, of course, supervised during this treasure hunt.

Intermediate and advanced riders: Kirkeby Plantations, riding time 2 or 3 hours

Depending on your level, we'll set off on an initial ride through the Kirkeby plantations (2 hours for intermediate riders, and 3 hours for advanced riders), during which we'll assess our riding ability and get acquainted with our mount. We'll discover the tölt, this unique and very comfortable natural gait of Icelandic horses.

We wander along paths through the plantations and, with a bit of luck, spot some of the many deer that live there. We admire the landscapes of Romo Island from the summit of Peak Mountain before returning to the center.

Beginner riders: Riding lesson, duration on horseback 1 hour

We get acquainted with our gentle horses, all of which are suitable for beginners. We take our first riding lesson in the arena to build confidence with our mounts and are introduced to the tölt, this particular and very comfortable natural gait of Icelandic horses.

Lunch and afternoon at leisure.

In the evening, we can gather around a bonfire.

After breakfast, we join our horses at the stables.

Intermediate and advanced riders: Haysand Beach, 2-hour ride

We have the joy of riding on the magnificent Havsand beach, the widest in Europe. We look forward to exhilarating gallops on the endless stretches of white sand. We savor this feeling of freedom. Weather permitting, we enjoy the pleasure of swimming with our horses.

Our horses are taking a day off, so we can enjoy the many activities available on site and visits to the surrounding area.

Experienced riders: ride to Butcher's Bank, duration on horseback 4 hours

Today, we're having a unique experience on a four-hour horseback ride to Butcher's Bank. Under a clear sky, our Icelandic horses are taking us through magnificent landscapes where the horizon seems endless. As we approach the beach, a surprise awaits us: the chance to go into the water with the horses! The splashes and the feeling of the waves are incredible. Luckily, we brought our swimsuits.

Intermediate riders: ride to the Old Fire Dam, duration on horseback 3 hours

Today, we're setting off on a three-hour walk through the forest towards the Old Fire Dam (red trail). The path winds between the trees, whose leaves form a verdant canopy above us. The air is fresh, and the steady pace of our Icelandic horses invites us to fully appreciate the tranquility of nature. Along the way, we pass through small clearings and listen to the rustling of leaves and the birdsong. When we arrive at the dam, the place seems frozen in time, surrounded by unspoiled nature.

We set off for a ride on the magnificent Havsand beach, a haven for sand yachting and oceanfront activities. We savor these unforgettable moments on the white sand, admiring the scenery from the dunes.

Experienced riders: Romo Island, 5-hour ride

We set off on a long ride to explore the island of Romo. We follow country lanes through plantations to the beautiful Sonderstrand beach. We enjoy long gallops to the dunes and then reach one of the largest beaches in Europe, Lakolk. We enjoy riding along the coast to the seaside town of Lakolk where we stop for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we head towards Kirkeby and return to the stables along lovely forest paths.

Intermediate riders: Bananklitten, riding time 3 hours

This morning we ride along country lanes through the Banan dunes to Sonderstrand. We discover the magnificent landscapes of the Wadden Sea Nature Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We observe the wildlife and ride along the coast.

Beginner riders: Havsand Beach, 2-hour ride

We set off for a ride on the magnificent Havsand beach, a haven for sand yachting and oceanfront activities. We savor these unforgettable moments on the white sand. We admire the landscape one last time from the dunes. We say goodbye to our horses.
