Land and sea discoveries of Bali

The meeting point is at 8:30 am on the beach of the Prama Beach Hotel, just a few minutes' walk from your hotel. You'll head out for a dive at the Sanur Reef site. Refresh your skills, readjust to weightlessness, adjust your weighting... It's the perfect time to get back into the swing of things and make the most of the week's dives! After this first dive in Indonesian waters, you'll return to the dive center where a delicious lunch awaits. Enjoy it on the beach, with your toes in the sand. In the afternoon, our partner Rip Curl's team will take care of you! A technical briefing, advice, and dry-land training to find the correct position and learn the basic techniques... You'll then be ready to ride the gentle waves—perfect for beginners—that break right off the beach. Experience the exhilarating sensation of surfing a wave crest, let yourself be carried away, and admire your progress! After this busy day, our driver will take you back to your hotel... unless of course you prefer to stay and stroll in one of the many cafes along the sea, to enjoy the end of this day.

These two days of diving will be dedicated to the Tulamben and Amed area. To get there, you'll need to travel to the northeast of the island. Our team will pick you up from your hotel between 7:30 and 8:00 AM for a journey of approximately two hours. Once in Tulamben, you'll dive at one of the island's most renowned dive sites and one of the world's most famous shipwrecks: the USS Liberty. This American cargo ship, which ran aground after a Japanese attack during World War II, rests at a depth of between 5 and 30 meters, very close to the shore. It's beautifully colonized by corals and a variety of marine life (frogfish, leaf fish, etc.). Entry is from the shore. The seabed is pebbly, so it's best to wear booties. At midday, you'll have lunch at a local restaurant before heading out for a second dive in the Tulamben area. After this full day of diving, you'll return to your hotel in Tulamben. Dinner is at your leisure: ask your guide for their favorite spots!

The next day, the pace is less early: around 10:00 AM, after a good night's sleep, our team will pick you up. The journey is shorter: in about twenty minutes, you'll reach Jemeluk Bay. There, your jukung, a traditional Indonesian outrigger boat, awaits. Embark on your dive! The bay's dive sites are varied, ranging from drop-offs to coral gardens. Photographers will be delighted by the small, unusual, and colorful marine life that inhabits the dense corals. And let's not forget the barracudas, tuna, Napoleon wrasse, batfish, and other turtles that frequent the sites! Lunch will be at a seaside restaurant before heading out for a second dive at another site in the bay. At the end of the day, you'll return to your hotel in Tulamben.

Today is dedicated to exploring the ancient sites that have made Bali famous. Your driver will meet you at 9:00 AM at your hotel and take you to the foot of Mount Lempuyang. On the slopes of this mountain, one of Bali's three highest peaks, lie the temples that make up the Pura Lempuyang complex. This important center of Balinese spirituality is one of the oldest sanctuaries on the island. The view of Mount Agung opposite is breathtaking, and the devotion of the Balinese who visit and pay homage to their deities is palpable. After a lunch break, you will visit the royal palace of Tirta Gangga, also known as the Water Palace. This labyrinth of pools and fountains is nestled in the heart of lush greenery. Don't forget your camera; there are countless opportunities to capture stunning images in this truly unique monument. With your head full of images and the scent of incense still lingering, you meet your driver, who will take you back to Sanur. There, you'll find your hotel from the first few nights – just like home!

Meet at 8:00 AM to head either to Prama Beach at high tide or to the pier a few kilometers away. Our speedboat will take you off the coast of Bali to dive around Nusa Penida Island. The surrounding dive sites are world-renowned for their manta ray population, which can be seen year-round at Manta Point (aptly named), and for the extraordinary and unique encounters with sunfish (mola mola) at Crystal Bay. While the chances of seeing manta rays are good all year, sunfish only rise from the depths during a specific period from July to October. You'll then be able to observe the ballet of butterflyfish and bannerfish, which busily clean parasites from these giants. But if the sunfish aren't there, don't worry: the dives in this area are all stunning, often drift dives along magnificent drop-offs teeming with marine life. After all, you're right in the heart of the Coral Triangle! The day includes two dives and a picnic lunch on board. The surface intervals give you time to relax and admire the scenery. Bali is so beautiful from the sea! Your accommodation remains the same. After all that activity, it's nice to settle down!

Today, for your last day on the Island of the Gods, your driver will take you inland to Ubud. Made famous by the book and film Eat, Pray, Love, this small town perfectly blends local charm with a warm welcome for tourists. The art market, where you'll have time to stroll, offers a wide variety of Balinese handicrafts. From small souvenirs that fit in your bag to imposing carved furniture, there's something for everyone! You'll also visit a traditional house, a perfect opportunity to learn about the customs, still very much alive today, that shape Balinese family life. Finally, you'll venture into the Goa Gajah temple. Deep inside a cave, the entrance is guarded by sculpted demons, and you must, quite literally, enter the monster's mouth to discover its inner wonders. After this varied day—lunch is planned in Ubud—you'll return to your hotel. Last evening, take a stroll in Sanur to stock up on souvenirs! Woven bags, cosmetics made from local products, colorful batiks... You'll be spoiled for choice.

This last day is free: choose between a well-deserved lie-in, a trip to the beach, a visit to a temple, or a shopping spree to find those last-minute souvenirs. It's also the perfect opportunity to try the famous Balinese massage, designed to rebalance energies and bring relaxation, all enveloped in the gentle scent of essential oils. A must-try! Your room must be vacated by noon, but you can leave your luggage at reception if your flight is later. Your driver will pick you up three hours before your flight time and take you to Denpasar Airport, where you'll depart with your head full of memories... What to pack in your suitcases? All sorts of items decorated with frangipani flower silhouettes, the symbol of Bali, carved wooden objects—Balinese decor is exported all over the world!—or even spices to recreate at home the dishes that delighted you throughout your stay.
