In a few words

Escape on horseback for two days with an equestrian weekend in the Baronnies ! Answer the call of the peaks and let yourself be guided by the rhythm of hooves towards the wild landscapes of the Baronnies in the Hautes-Pyrénées . Explore a region rich in authentic traditions by following the transhumance trails that lead to the Casque du Lhéris mountains . From the ridge, you can admire the imposing silhouette of the Pic du Midi, a proud emblem of this distinctive mountain range. Spending the night in a bivouac is a unique experience in itself : you will sleep sheltered by the Casque's face , under the watchful gaze of griffon vultures, in a campsite set up near the horses that will also be grazing the mountain grass. The evening, filled with conviviality , will give way to a night that will slowly settle in, accompanied by its procession of stars...

The highlights

  • A 2-day stay: the ideal length for a rejuvenating break surrounded by nature
  • Riding horses that accompany you to the mountaintops
  • An off-the-beaten-track route in the heart of a wild and unspoiled mountain range

After meeting and preparing the horses for this two-day nomadic adventure, we'll set off on the trails. We'll gradually leave the rural foothills behind and climb towards the grassy slopes and forests of the Baronnies summer pastures. The atmosphere becomes more mountainous as we catch sight of the first peaks.

After 4 to 5 hours in the saddle on the first day, we'll set up camp for a night under the open sky in the heart of the mountains. For a truly immersive equestrian experience, we'll be self-sufficient: our equipment for the night in the wilderness will be carried by our mules, Miracle and Mulette. Tents, mattresses, a tipi, and cooking ingredients for a convivial evening surrounded by nature.
