This exhilarating hike takes us to the islands where the forces of nature reign supreme: the volcanoes Vulcano, Stromboli, and Etna. A volcanic experience amidst the gentle pace of Sicilian life. The Aeolian Islands form a unique archipelago where the earth's depths are in constant communication with the surface. Vulcano and Stromboli are two giants whose volcanic activity has barely ceased for 2,300 years. They steam, spew, and erupt almost continuously, and it's not uncommon to see, at night, from the summit of the raging Stromboli, plumes of fire reaching 200 meters high. We extend this experience with the discovery of Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Along the way, thanks to our guides, we also have the opportunity to meet Sicilians, rich in their culture and generous in sharing it with you.

In the morning, transfer to Milazzo and then by hydrofoil across to Lipari. Check into your accommodation and in the afternoon, a walk along the south coast of Lipari, offering magnificent views of Vulcano as we head towards Punta Caprazza, an easy and hilly path.Day 2 -

Boat transfer to the island of Salina and ascent to the highest point of the Aeolian Islands: Monte Fossa delle Felci. A nature reserve for several years now, it's a paradise for hikers. Boat to Lipari in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay in Lipari.Day 3 -

Enjoy the morning exploring Lipari Castle, the island's historic (and prehistoric) center, where you can admire the magnificent cathedral, the remains of Bronze Age huts, and the prestigious archaeological museum (entrance not included). In the early afternoon, depart for Vulcano to hike up and around the Gran Cratere de la Fossa (391 m). Enjoy stunning views of the Gran Cratere and all the islands of the archipelago. After the hike, free time to explore the village or swim in Vulcano's clear waters. In the late afternoon, take a boat to Lipari and check into your apartment.Day 4 -

A new hydrofoil transfer takes you to the island of Stromboli. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and enjoy free time to explore the village of San Vicenzo and have lunch. In the afternoon, a guided excursion takes you to the permitted boundary to observe Strombolian activity—the explosions and lava fountains that have characterized Stromboli for over 2,000 years. If, due to intense activity, a decree prohibits approaching the volcano, a boat trip will be offered to observe the explosions from the sea. A picnic dinner will be provided during the hike. Overnight in Stromboli.Day 5 -

A day of travel between the Aeolian Islands and Sicily. After breakfast, a relaxing morning on Stromboli, followed by a hydrofoil trip back to Milazzo (3 hours) and a minibus transfer to Mount Etna. Check-in at the refuge at the foot of the southern slope of Europe's largest active volcano. An exploratory hike at sunset to discover the magnificent volcanic landscape of lava flows and eruptive cones. Dinner and overnight stay at our accommodation.Day 6 -
Discovering Mount Etna and the Valle del Bove - Catania

A day dedicated to exploring Mount Etna. Enjoy a beautiful hike to the "Valle del Bove," an incredible volcanic caldera, to admire the most recent volcanic formations dating from the 2002/2003 eruption and numerous lava flows. Learn about the volcano's activity and the unique ecosystem of Etna Natural Park. In the afternoon, return to Catania. Dinner at your leisure and overnight stay. Optional Etna summit hike: (6 hours of walking, elevation gain/loss: +450m / -850m). Depending on weather and volcanic conditions, the regulations of the Catania Prefecture, and the group's motivation, it may be possible to ascend by cable car and jeep to 2900m altitude, followed by a hike to the southeast craters of Etna at 3400m altitude. This excursion is led by a volcanologist guide and is limited to a maximum of 20 people. Price to be paid on site of €100 per person (in cash).Day 7 -

Note
Itineraries are subject to change depending on weather conditions, the physical condition of participants, or safety conditions related to volcanic activity. Please note that in March and April, due to weather conditions, particularly snow, the ascent of Mount Etna may be impossible. The guide reserves the right to cancel the Stromboli summit excursion in case of danger or following orders from the Italian Civil Protection. An alternative excursion is always offered. No refunds are given if the summit cannot be reached.

You can easily reach the hotel by public bus (20 min, €4) or by taxi (15 min, approximately €25). By bus: AMT Alibus buses (number 457) depart every 20 minutes from 5:00 AM to midnight from the airport towards the city of Catania. The bus stop is located on your right as you exit the airport (it's a 100-meter walk). Before the AMT bus stop, you will find two small kiosks selling tickets for various bus companies. Ask for the ALIBUS ticket for Catania city center. The ticket costs €4. By taxi: If you prefer, you can take a taxi. The transfer time is approximately 20 minutes. Expect to pay between €25 and €40 for a taxi, depending on the amount of luggage, the time of day, and traffic conditions to reach the city center.
