In a few words

A complete exploration of Ladakh, including a short trek in the Sham Valley, visits to the most beautiful monasteries of the Indus Valley, and the discovery of the stunning Changtang Lakes. From Delhi, we fly over the Himalayas to land in Leh, the capital of "Little Tibet." We begin our journey gently by visiting the villages and monasteries of the Indus Valley, before exploring on foot the villages of the Sham Valley, some of the most beautiful in the region. This is also an opportunity to immerse ourselves in local life, away from the main tourist routes. We then visit Lamayuru and admire the peaks of Zanskar before heading for the Tibetan Plateau. The landscape changes, the steep mountains giving way to vast, wild spaces. We now find ourselves on the Tibetan border, on the shores of two of the most beautiful lakes in the world: Tso Kar and Tso Moriri, which bring this Ladakh adventure to a magnificent close! To conclude this trip, we visit the Indian capital, and, as an option, visit the Taj Majal...

The highlights

  • A concentrated dose of Ladakh's most beautiful landscapes in a single trip
  • Discover the Tso Kar and Tso Moriri lakes, turquoise jewels of the Changtang plateau
  • Option to conclude the trip with a visit to the iconic Taj Mahal

Fantastic trip to the Ladakh Valley with our guide, Arjun, and assistant guide, Konchok. They were both amazing and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. The scenery during the treks was magnificent, and the visits to the Buddhist temples were top-notch. Arjun's board games in the evenings were really fun. Three things to improve: 1. The packing list: I'm still annoyed that I bought and carried a high-performance sleeping bag for €350 for nothing. 2. The diet: having several meals consisting of rice, chickpea puree, cumin potatoes, and pasta, without any meat or vegetables (no, potatoes aren't vegetables!). Luckily, Arjun was there to make sure we had vegetables! It would be better to mention that the diet would be vegetarian for almost the entire trip! 3. Some afternoons at a local's house are very long; when you arrive at 2 p.m. and don't leave to explore the village until 5:30 p.m., not everyone wants to read or sleep for 3 hours in the afternoon.

Hello Brigitte,

Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions of your trip to the Ladakh Valley. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed the magnificent landscapes, the visits to Buddhist temples, and the convivial moments spent with Arjun and Konchok, which clearly contributed to making your stay unforgettable.

Regarding your points for improvement, we have taken your comments into account:

  1. Sleeping bag : We understand your frustration at having purchased expensive equipment only to find you didn't need it. We have passed your feedback on to our team, and we are currently updating the packing list. We will now specify that the blankets provided in lodges and with local families are sufficient.
  2. Dietary requirements : We understand that meals may have lacked variety, especially in more remote areas like the Chamthang Valley. Dietary needs are often a sensitive issue, and we strive to provide all necessary information during registration. However, it is important to bear in mind that the culinary cultures and customs of some destinations may limit access to certain foods.
  3. Free time with locals : Days with shorter hikes can indeed leave more free time. Our itineraries include these rest periods so travelers can relax before dinner. However, for those who wish, it is always possible to participate in additional activities or interact with the hosts earlier.

We thank you for your constructive suggestions, which help us improve our stays to offer the best possible experience.
