The secrets of Haute-Corrèze on a hike

Embark on a superb 12km loop, starting directly from the campsite, with the "In the Heart of the Corrèze Forest" hike. This approximately 3-hour walk is accessible and immersive, plunging you into the splendors of the Haute-Corrèze region.

The trail, marked in yellow, alternates between deep forests , sunlit clearings, gentle slopes, and small ridges offering beautiful views of the surrounding hills. You will walk beneath beech, oak, pine, and holly trees, soothed by birdsong and the calming silence of the forest.

Along the way, the atmosphere changes: tunnels of greenery, mossy undergrowth, more open passages, small crossings of hamlets… A varied route, typically Corrèze, where you can fully feel the preserved nature.

Accessible to regular walkers as well as families used to hiking, this route also offers great opportunities to observe local wildlife : squirrels, deer, birds of prey… or simply the details of this living forest that breathes with you.

And after the effort, a gentle return to the campsite , in the heart of 4 hectares of nature, absolute calm, relaxation facilities and an atmosphere conducive to rest.

A perfect hike to discover the soul of Haute-Corrèze: simple, wild, rejuvenating.

Embark on a hike combining nature, history and spectacular panoramas: ≈ 11–12 km (± ~337 m D+), approximately 3 hours of walking, starting from Soursac, on the route “From Pont-Aubert to Rochers Noirs”.

The route begins at the charming Pont-Aubert lake, ideal for swimming or a picnic by the water. Then, you follow the old "Tacot" railway line — the little train of yesteryear — to reach the Rochers Noirs viaduct, a listed historical monument.

The route also takes you to the Jardin de Firmin, with a breathtaking view of the Luzège valley. You cross forests, shaded paths, old roads, and traverse streams and dikes: an immersion in preserved nature, both peaceful and wild.

This trail is perfect for nature and heritage lovers: water, stone, forest, and monuments—everything blends together to offer a hike rich in contrasts. Accessible yet invigorating, this circuit will appeal to those who enjoy walking, exploring, and discovering.

Departure: At Lac de Soursac, easily accessible 15-20 minutes from the campsite by car.

The Milan Trail — Liginiac (6.6 km / approx. 2 h)

Start at the old Liginiac train station for a 6.6 km loop hike through typical Corrèze countryside. The trail leads you to the superb Roc Grand viewpoint—a breathtaking panorama of the Dordogne Gorges and, on a clear day, as far as the Cantal Mountains, not to mention the roaring Saut de Juillac waterfall. You'll have the option of hiking down the entire length of the waterfall (easy to go down, but climbing back up will definitely make your calves burn!).

After this spectacular view, you'll descend into a peaceful beech forest via an interpretive trail, perfect for discovering the forest from a different perspective. Alternating between woodland paths, small roads, hamlets, and stream crossings, the area is ideal for a picnic.

This route offers a beautiful balance between nature, history and panorama: the old “Tacot” railway line bears witness to a railway past, the church of Liginiac and its ancient architecture will add a typical charm to your walk.

Accessible, pleasant, and ideal at any time of year—for a solo outing, a couple's trip, or a family outing—the Sentier du Milan is one of the most charming gateways to the Haute-Corrèze region. Don't forget your binoculars: if you're lucky, a bird of prey might just fly overhead.

The Longeyroux Peat Bog – 14 km of nature & escape

For your last day of your stay, treat yourself to an unforgettable experience with the "Longeyroux Peat Bog" hike. On a 14km trail, you'll immerse yourself in a rare and preserved natural setting — other options are available to discover this exceptional area: 9km / 17km / 18km / 26km.

The trail winds through moors, peat bogs, woods, and gentle paths, alternating between cool undergrowth, verdant meadows, and mysterious wetlands. You'll walk through a landscape often compared to the moors of Scotland, with its magical atmosphere, ever-changing colors, and reflections in the water. Perhaps you'll even have the pleasure of encountering our beautiful Highlands, my personal favorites.

With every step, the Corrèze countryside reveals itself: damp mosses, sphagnum moss, tall grasses, and small streams create a wild and soothing landscape. The silence, broken only by birdsong or the whisper of the wind, invites you to slow down, observe, and feel the life of this sensitive area.

Accessible to all walkers, the terrain remains easy: no big climbs, wide paths, a gentle slope — an ideal route to end your stay gently.

We get up leisurely to enjoy a last breath of fresh air and we set off at a leisurely pace until 5pm in the Low season or 11am in the High season.
