A challenging hike for lovers of wide-open spaces, unspoiled nature, and authentic experiences! This cross-border route between Albania, Kosovo, and Montenegro offers an intimate journey through nature in one of the most remote and wild mountain regions of the Western Balkans . We begin in northern Albania, crossing Lake Koman, before reaching the peaceful Valbona Valley. The hike to the White Circle provides a warm-up before following ancient shepherds' trails to reach isolated villages and small Kosovar and Montenegrin hamlets where time seems to have stood still. Along the way, we encounter herds of sheep, meadows, alpine pastures, glacial lakes, waterfalls, springs, and the ever-present mountains. We complete our trek by returning to Albania through the beautiful Theth Valley.

Depending on the stage of your journey, you will be accommodated in hotels, guesthouses, and sheepfolds. We have chosen authentic and traditional accommodations to prioritize the discovery of local culture and encourage interaction with your Albanian hosts. The level of comfort and bedding is basic but perfectly adequate, even good by the standards of a country that has only recently opened up to tourism.

In double rooms (hotels and sometimes guest houses), small dormitories averaging 4 to 6 people (in guesthouses and sheepfolds); with shared bathroom.

Be aware that accommodations in the sheepfolds are very basic, even though they are equipped to receive visitors; they do not have electricity. Bring your own (lightweight) sleeping bag; blankets are provided in the sheepfolds.
