In a few words

This 4-day hiking trip on the Camino de Santiago is designed for walkers who want a first experience of the route, in a shorter format and easily accessible by train. Over three days of walking, the itinerary connects Aumont-Aubrac to Saint-Côme-d'Olt, along an iconic section of the GR65, in the heart of the Aubrac plateau.

The route allows you to discover the spirit of the Camino de Santiago without a long commitment: a steady pace, organized accommodations, no need to carry your own gear, and return to the starting point included. The stages follow summer pasture paths and trails long used by pilgrims, in a rural plateau landscape shaped by livestock farming.

This short stay provides a simple and concrete entry onto the Way of St. James, suitable for a short getaway of a few days, from Paris or other major cities, while maintaining the continuity and sense of travel.

Important note: Pets are not allowed on the Aubrac plateau during the summer grazing of the cow herds.

The highlights

  • Three days of walking on the GR65
  • An iconic route between Aubrac and the Lot Valley

An enriching experience with the encounters along the way. The provided app is expensive considering its usefulness (the GR trails are very well marked).

The hotels and mountain huts were fantastic! The estimated times for each stage of the hike were sometimes a bit tight, but by looking at the guidebook sent before the start of the hike, you can get a more reliable idea. Everything else was perfect.
