Adventure between volcanoes and sea in Sicily at an agritourism farm

Today, we're hiking on Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe and one of the most active in the world. At 3,327 meters high and with an average base diameter of 40 km, Etna dominates the entire island.

The trek begins along the dirt road which leads from Piano Provenzana to the summit craters of the volcano; after the first kilometer you cross the eruptive fracture of the eruption of October 27, 2002 on the "Monte Nero - Timpa Rossa" route; the itinerary allows you to discover and study.

Departure for Piazza Armerina to discover the stunning "Villa Romana del Casale," built during the Roman imperial era and world-renowned for its spectacular polychrome mosaics. Mosaics adorn the floors of the various rooms. On the way back, it is possible to stop at the "Outlet Village" in Dittaino for some shopping.

Taormina, this coastal town, is built on a natural terrace 200 meters above the sea, with the snow-capped peak of Mount Etna rising behind the inland ridges. You can stroll through its narrow streets and admire the panoramic views. Walking along Corso Umberto, the main street, lined with boutiques, jewelers, and antique shops, you'll arrive at the Greek Theatre: a breathtaking view stretching all the way to the Calabrian coast. Today you'll participate in a guided canoe trip of approximately two hours along the splendid Taormina coastline, departing from Giardini Naxos. During the trip, you can admire the natural beauty of the protected marine area, with unique viewpoints and crystal-clear waters.

Noto : This southeastern city, rebuilt in the 18th century, represents the heart and starting point for visiting Baroque Sicily. Passing under the Arch of Triumph, you will reach the Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the true heart of Noto.

Syracuse : a prestigious city of the ancient world, the most powerful rival of Athens and Rome, Syracuse preserves important vestiges of its glorious past: the solemn and spectacular Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus, the most famous of Syracuse's caves. Continue to the small Baroque island of Ortygia, the historical center of Syracuse. Dotted with impressive church facades, open-air restaurants, elegant squares, and bathed by a crystal-clear sea, it is punctuated by important remains of its glorious past. There you will visit the Temple of Minerva, transformed into a Christian cathedral, the legendary Spring of Aretusa, and the Temple of Apollo.

Ragusa is a city of two souls: it comprises a modern district and an old Baroque quarter, Ibla. Ragusa possesses the refined elegance characteristic of the late Baroque towns of the Val di Noto. You will visit the charming historic center of Ibla, with its magnificent Baroque palaces and churches; Ragusa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll through the Giardini Iblei, pleasant public gardens laid out in the 19th century, and then visit the iconic Baroque dome of San Giorgio, perched atop a hill that emphasizes its height.

Modica : the best way to explore this city is on foot . You can climb its staircases, lose yourself in its maze of narrow streets, and admire its views. Modica is also the Sicilian home of chocolate, and you can taste the region's famous chocolate. Modica chocolate is made according to an ancient recipe of Aztec origin.

The River of the Cyclopes, the stretch of the Sicilian coast carved by Mount Etna , whose lava flows have created rugged rocks and sheer cliffs that plunge into crystal-clear coves. The River of the Cyclopes extends from Aci Castello and Acireale north of Catania. It owes its name to the legend that the Cyclops Polyphemus hurled these imposing rocks in a desperate attempt to prevent Odysseus's escape.
