Meet at 9:30 am in La Fouillouse, the last hamlet in the valley. An approach hike takes us to a remote area, without cell service, ideal for learning. Along the way, we'll discuss effort management, pacing, and the basics for safe and confident mountain hiking.

Once on site, it's time for practical application: strategically choosing the bivouac location, setting up shelters with tarpaulins, managing water, regulating temperature, and learning fire-starting techniques. The camp takes shape collectively before a hot dinner and the first night in the wilderness.
