Access by train
Take the train toMoûtiers - Salins - Brides-les-Bains

By bus: Regular shuttle buses operated by Altibus provide a direct link to Val Thorens bus station (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes journey time). The fare is approximately €12 per adult (and €7.50 for young people aged 2 to 26).

By taxi or private hire vehicle: The journey takes approximately 45 to 55 minutes. Prices are generally between €110 and €120 during the day for a standard vehicle (1 to 3 people).

Access by car
Travel to the place of stay with parking available

By car:

  1. From Paris (approximately 6.5 to 7 hours drive) : Take the A6 motorway then the A43 towards Albertville/Chambéry. Continue on the N90 to Moûtiers, then take the D117 which leads directly up to Val Thorens.
  2. From Lyon (approximately 2h30 to 3h) : Take the A43 motorway towards Chambéry/Albertville, then the N90 to Moûtiers before joining the D117 towards Val Thorens.
ℹ️ Parking in Val Thorens:
Val Thorens is a semi-pedestrian resort where on-street parking is regulated/paid in winter.
  1. Paid parking: The resort has several covered and uncovered car parks managed by Valthoparc (P0, P1, P2...).
  2. Free parking: There is no free covered parking in the resort centre. However, the open-air P5 car park (located below the resort) is free during the day for skiers and provides direct access to the slopes and lifts. (In the summer season, all parking in the resort becomes free).
