Ideal for an active holiday, this base camp is located just 150 meters from the nearest downhill ski slope and 200 meters from the SchattbergXpress and Bernkogelbahn lifts. Cross-country skiers can access the trails 100 meters away, while the ski bus stops directly in front of the hotel.
Designed with skiers in mind, the hotel offers a ski room with boot dryers , its own restaurant, a traditional Stüberl (traditional Swiss bar), and two bars for relaxing after a day on the slopes. Shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby bring the village to life.
Then it's time to recover: enjoy free access to the indoor swimming pool and a wellness area (for ages 15 and up) featuring a sauna , steam room , jacuzzi , and relaxation room. Treatments and massages at preferential rates complete this rejuvenating break at the foot of the Austrian peaks.

Location: The "Berger's Sporthotel" is a cozy 4-star hotel located in the center of Saalbach. The ski area is accessible via the "SchattbergXpress" ski lift, approximately 200 meters away, or the "Bernkogelbahn" ski lift, also approximately 200 meters away. Downhill skiers will find the nearest slope just 150 meters away. Cross-country skiing is available on the network of trails approximately 100 meters away. Ski buses stop right in front of the hotel. You will be staying close to shops, cafes, and restaurants. Amenities: This comfortable accommodation consists of a main building and an annex approximately 20 meters apart. It includes a reception area with a safe, a lobby, Wi-Fi access, a lounge, a sitting room, an elevator, its own restaurant, a Stüberl (traditional Swiss bar), its own bar, and a bar open to the public. You can store your ski equipment in the ski/snowboard room with boot dryers. On-site parking is also available, including covered parking (at an additional cost) – subject to availability. The wellness area (for guests aged 15 and over) features a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. You can also relax in the relaxation room. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM). Massages and beauty treatments are available at an additional cost. During your stay, you will receive a wellness voucher, valid for selected beauty treatments and offering a 10% discount.

From the train station to the accommodation:
- By bus: Take the direct Postbus line 680 ( Salzburg Verkehr network) from Zell am See train station to the "Saalbach Schattberg X-Press" or "Saalbach Tourismusverband" stop. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Tickets cost between €5 and €7 each way (the journey may be included or free depending on local travel passes and cards issued by the hotel) . The hotel (located on the village square, Dorfplatz) is then a 2-3 minute walk (approximately 200 meters).
- By taxi: Allow approximately 20 to 25 minutes for a direct journey from the forecourt of Zell am See station (between €45 and €65 per journey).
Salzburg Airport WA Mozart (SZG) – Austria (nearest, located approximately 85 km / 1 hour 20 minutes by road) : Served from France (Paris CDG, Lyon, Nice) with a stopover via Lufthansa (via Frankfurt) or Austrian Airlines (via Vienna), as well as with seasonal direct flights in winter according to the airlines' schedules (e.g., Transavia , EasyJet ). Direct road shuttles ( Holiday Shuttle ) regularly connect the airport to the Saalbach Valley.
- From Paris (approximately 10 to 10.5 hours by car, ~990 km): Take the A4 motorway towards Strasbourg, then enter Germany on the A8 via Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, and Munich. Continue on the A8 towards Salzburg until the Siegsdorf/Traunstein exit, then follow the B306 federal road, then the B312 (towards Lofer), and the B311 to Maishofen. From there, take the L111 valley road ( Glemmtaler Landesstraße ) to the center of Saalbach (Dorfplatz 33).
- From Salzburg (nearest major Austrian city, about 1 hour 30 minutes drive, ~90 km): Take the B21 through the German border area (Bad Reichenhall), join the B312 towards Lofer, then the B311 to Maishofen and finally the L111 to Saalbach.
- From Munich (approximately 2h30 drive, ~180 km): Take the A8 towards Salzburg, exit at Siegsdorf / Traunstein , then join the B306 , the B312 (Lofer), the B311 and the L111 to Saalbach.
