In a few words

Embark on a timeless adventure in the heart of the Greenlandic winter.

From Ilulissat, an Inuit town nestled at the mouth of a fjord studded with giant icebergs, we head towards Oqaatsut, an isolated village on Disko Bay. Here, life adapts to the ice, the silence, and the ever-changing Arctic light. On the agenda: dog sledding, hiking and mini-snowshoeing expeditions, a cruise among the icebergs of the UNESCO-listed fjord… and nights under the Northern Lights. Each day is an immersion in a raw, magnificent, and unique world.

Between a cozy inn, a refuge in the heart of nature and a comfortable hotel, you get a taste of adventure without ever sacrificing comfort.

Greenland is a life-changing experience: you come back from it transformed, with a broader perspective, your heart still in the North.

The highlights

  • A first discovery of the Arctic in a hotel and refuge
  • Immersion in Oqaatsut, a traditional Greenlandic village
  • The "unheard-of" combo: sledding, snowshoeing and the Northern Lights!

The expert's opinion

Circuit characteristics

The program offers 3 to 6 hours of daily activities, with a balance between exploration and free time to relax and enjoy Greenland's unique atmosphere.

Recommended physical preparation

This route has been designed to be accessible to people in good physical condition who regularly hike in the mid-mountains. The activities are fun, without technical difficulty, and require no prior experience. All that matters is your desire to explore, to walk, and to let yourself be carried away by the adventure.

Physical activity during the stay

The journey itself is not particularly difficult, but Arctic conditions can make some days more demanding: temperatures can reach -30°C in February, strong winds are common, and the terrain can be unstable. The technical equipment provided is perfectly suited to the Far North and guarantees safety and comfort. The effort required is often more mental than physical, especially in the face of the cold, the unpredictable weather, and the pace of Arctic life.

Each day ends in comfortable accommodation, offering a well-deserved rest.

Spirit of the stay

This trip is participatory: everyone is invited to contribute to preparing the equipment for the mini-raid, cooking meals, or other daily tasks. In the Arctic, solidarity and group cohesion are essential.

Suitable for ages 14 and up.

Safety: Rigorous supervision in a polar environment

Our trips take place in the Arctic, an environment that is both isolated, fascinating, and potentially hostile. Upon arrival, your guides will explain essential safety instructions, covering both activities and hikes, as well as everyday tasks related to the cold, comfort, and life in the wilderness.

On the ground, the guide is your sole point of contact: with his extensive knowledge of Greenland, he alone is authorized to make the decisions necessary for the smooth running of the stay.

To ensure maximum safety, a Sarsat distress beacon is always carried. In case of extreme emergency, it transmits a signal that can be picked up by satellites and located with an average accuracy of 100 meters. Satellites pass over Greenland approximately every 30 minutes.

Each guide also has a satellite phone, ensuring a permanent link with our logistics base in Reykjavik.

Your safety is our top priority. We are committed to organizing trips with rigorous, professional supervision that respects the Arctic environment.

Polar bears: Bears are rare in this region of Greenland.

The Northern Lights are spectacular but unpredictable phenomena. They depend primarily on solar activity and are only visible when the sky is sufficiently clear.

The observation of the Northern Lights therefore remains the result of random parameters that we cannot control and for this reason, we cannot guarantee their observation 100%.
