From Paris to Saint-Malo by bike: from the Véloscénie to Brittany

Leave Rambouillet through its large forest and continue your adventure on small rural roads between fields, woods and villages.

After a final view of Chartres Cathedral, rejoin the Véloscénie route through the Eure-et-Loir countryside. Rolling fields, woods, and small villages mark the rhythm of this third day.

Make a stop in Illiers-Combray, closely linked to the work of Marcel Proust, then head to Nogent-le-Rotrou, the historic heart of the Perche region. Discover its imposing Château Saint-Jean before continuing on to Arcisses, amidst the verdant, rolling landscapes of the Perche.

Immerse yourself in the heart of the Perche region for a stage through rolling green hills, forests, manor houses and small hamlets. The Véloscénie cycle route crosses a particularly peaceful countryside here.

Take a break in Rémalard-en-Perche, with its traditional houses and local artisans, then continue on to Mortagne-au-Perche. Enjoy its heritage and the typical atmosphere of the region before reaching Coulonges-sur-Sarthe for the night.

Continue your journey through the landscapes of the Normandie-Maine Regional Natural Park. Pass through Le Mêle-sur-Sarthe before cycling between hills, forests and rural landscapes.

Make a stop in Alençon to explore its historic center, then continue towards the Château de Carrouges. The day ends in Lignières-Orgères, in the peaceful atmosphere of the Normandy countryside.

This sixth stage takes you to the heart of the Normandie-Maine Regional Natural Park, between forests, hills and small villages.

Head to the spa town of Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, renowned for its Belle Époque architecture and wooded surroundings. Continue through the natural landscapes of the park before reaching Barenton. Here, the region reveals a wilder, greener side of Normandy, just a short distance from Mont-Saint-Michel.

Leave Barenton and continue your journey through the Normandy countryside. Make your first stop in Mortain, known for its waterfalls and natural landscapes.

Continue on to Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët, where you can explore the town center and its local atmosphere, before reaching Ducey. Located on the banks of the Sélune River, this small town marks your final stop before the long-awaited arrival at Mont-Saint-Michel.

A short stage to fully enjoy one of the highlights of the trip. Leave Ducey along the Sélune river and gradually let the Normandy countryside give way to the wide open landscapes of the bay.

The silhouette of Mont-Saint-Michel draws ever closer with each kilometer until you arrive at the foot of this exceptional site. Take the time to wander its narrow streets, visit its abbey, and admire the panoramic views of the bay. This is where the Véloscénie joins the Vélomaritime for the final leg of your adventure.

For this final day, leave Mont-Saint-Michel and follow the Vélomaritime through the coastal landscapes of the bay. Cycle between marshes, natural areas, and small villages with the sea as your horizon.

Make a stop in Vivier-sur-Mer, a coastal village steeped in maritime heritage, before continuing on to Saint-Malo. Your grand voyage ends at the ramparts of this famous corsair city. Enjoy its beaches, its old town, and its views of the English Channel to celebrate the end of this adventure between Paris and Brittany.
