Welcome to Morlaix. Arrival is at your leisure during the day: our guide will meet you by appointment between 10 am and 6 pm. We offer an optional introductory loop for arrivals between 10 am and 2 pm. This cycling loop takes you to the east bank of the Morlaix River. You'll reach the Barnénez Cairn, a remarkable 7,000-year-old site! A story of humankind's love for this land where they settled so long ago.

Along the Morlaix river, you head upstream to the English Channel coast. Breathe in the salty sea air! You follow the Vélomaritime route, a little further inland; this short route allows you to reach Roscoff more quickly while enjoying the Penzé valley and Saint-Pol-de-Léon.

You leave the pretty port of Roscoff, its stones giving the town its charm, for a small road that winds between scattered houses, sometimes nestled against a massive granite boulder. Pleasant surprises await you in this Breton architecture throughout this stage. You will also discover the charming Pontusval lighthouse.

Today, you're reaching the ends of the earth! The air is pure and smells of iodine and seaweed. Soon, you'll see the Île Vierge and its lighthouse. One of the most impressive, standing at 82 meters, it's the tallest lighthouse in Europe. To reach the lens, you'll have to climb 397 steps! (A boat allows you to reach the island on certain dates throughout the year to visit the lighthouse). A short trip inland is necessary to cross the bridges that allow you to traverse the Abers. A living spectacle of nature, the tides are the masters of this exceptional display. Slowly, the sea water flows up the valleys to create powerful rivers.

From Ploudalmezau to Le Conquet

You reach a striking coastline where the meadow seems to plunge into the sea! Here and there, beautiful granite boulders lie scattered on the beach. You are at Pen Ar Bed, which means "end of the world" in Breton. Your bike takes you to Pointe de Corsen, the westernmost point of mainland France. From its clifftops, you'll be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view of the sea. The air you breathe here comes directly from the Atlantic! The route also allows you to visit the Trézien lighthouse (in July and August only).

From Le Conquet to Brest

From the port of Le Conquet, you're just a few kilometers from Pointe Saint-Mathieu. If you're a fan of Thalassa, the French maritime television program, you'll certainly recognize its lighthouse perched atop the ruins of an abbey. The place is enchanting, and the cliffs are magnificent. Lock up your bikes and enjoy the view before heading back towards Brest. A short detour will be required to see one of Brittany's most striking lighthouses, the Petit Minou. Your route follows small roads along the narrow channel and then the Brest harbor. The Portzic lighthouse and the Brest shipyards bring this hilly day to a close.
