10-day sailing course between Martinique and the Grenadines

An early start the next morning for the first sail towards Saint Lucia. It will take you approximately 4 hours of sailing before arriving at one of the island's magnificent anchorages.

After a first dip in the turquoise water, you will spend the night there and wake up amazed by the beauty of the landscapes and mountains that surround you.

On the third day, you'll sail to Bequia (pronounced "Bekwe") after about seven hours, passing the islands of Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent. Along the way, you're very likely to see flying fish and perhaps even whales! You'll arrive in the afternoon at the first of the Grenadines islands. You'll then anchor off the capital, Port Elizabeth, in Admiralty Bay.

Next, you'll need to go ashore to clear customs and discover the very welcoming locals and their culinary specialties, perhaps by enjoying grilled fish in one of the typical restaurants. After a good breakfast, we'll set sail again for a short cruise to Mayreau. Once there, the best place to anchor is probably Salt Whistle Bay, which offers incredible colors and a large white sand beach lined with coconut palms. Some even say it's the most beautiful cove in the Grenadines archipelago.

At daybreak, we set sail for the Tobago Cays, the famous paradise islands often used to represent the Caribbean.

The lagoon formed by the immense coral reef is protected and allows you to swim with turtles while observing exotic fish. This precious lagoon encircles the five small islands of the Tobago Cays archipelago and is a paradise on earth for sailors and divers. It is renowned as the most beautiful lagoon in the Caribbean. A visit is a must! You can enjoy fresh lobster barbecued on the beach in the evening.

The next morning, you can anchor off the island of Petit Tabac, tiny but no less idyllic and relatively unknown. The film Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed in the Grenadines, and Petit Tabac is the island where Jack Sparrow spends a whole night with Elizabeth.

On the eighth day, set sail for Union Island. Along the way, you can stop at Morpion Island, a paradisiacal sandbar, then have lunch at Palm Bay, a small island just opposite Union. Enjoy a dip in the 28°C water before heading back to Union. On this island, considered the "capital" of the Grenadines, you can restock your water, fuel, and food supplies. In the meantime, stop at Clifton Harbour in Union for a final stroll ashore, and perhaps an evening with a Caribbean rhythm, accompanied by steel band or reggae music.

Early the next morning, you'll set off again for a full day of sailing towards Saint Vincent. During this day, you'll pass by the less touristy island of Canouan. Then, you'll continue upriver to the Wallilabu Bay anchorage for clearance, and then on to Cumberland Bay, where you'll anchor "Tahitian style" (by attaching an extra line to a coconut palm at the stern to prevent the boat from swinging around). From Cumberland or Wallilabu, you can easily walk to a nearby river, where you'll discover a magnificent sight: a waterfall plunging into lush vegetation.

Then it will be time to head towards Martinique for a final anchorage in Sainte Anne for an evening in this charming little town.

Return to the port of Le Marin to return the boat at 9am after refueling with diesel.
