Experience an unforgettable week of surfing in Madeira with a 7-day/5-night program designed to help you progress, have fun, and enjoy the best of the Atlantic. The stay takes place at the Dom Pedro Madeira - Ocean Club Hotel, boasting a prime beachfront location and easy access to the island's main surf beaches.


The program includes five surf sessions, one per day, lasting two hours each, always adapted to the sea conditions and the participants' skill level. Lessons generally take place at Praia de São Roque in Machico, or at Maiata in Porto da Cruz—ideal locations for learning and progressing. Whenever conditions permit, and to offer different experiences, sessions may also be held at Seixal (Porto Moniz) or Fajã da Areia in São Vicente, beaches of great natural beauty with quality waves.


One of the program's major strengths is its personalized attention: small groups, with a maximum of six surfers per certified instructor. The AroundFreedom surf school provides high-quality surfboards and wetsuits, ensuring comfort and safety in every session. The instructors hold Level 1 and/or 2 certifications, are accredited by the Portuguese Surfing Federation and the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, and have several years of experience in surfing and teaching.

    Upon arrival, you will check in at the Dom Pedro Madeira - Ocean Club hotel. Take some time to settle comfortably into your room before activities begin. At 6:00 PM , you will meet for a full briefing with the local agency team. This is the perfect opportunity to get to know your coaches and learn about the detailed surf plan for your week-long course. You will discuss the expected sea conditions and the organization of upcoming sessions at the island's surf spots.

Surf lesson times depend on the low tide and are adjusted daily according to the tide and sea conditions for surfing.


The classes last approximately 2 hours (warm-up and practice)


There may be last-minute changes depending on surfing conditions, and in the event of travel, they may extend the activity by one or two additional hours if moving to another location.


If travelling to another location, it may take more than an hour to travel plus the return journey.
