In a few words

In the morning, the ocean is just a few minutes' walk away; in the afternoon, the beach, the village, or a nap in the sun. In Caleta de Famara, a small fishing village in the north of Lanzarote, Famara beach offers waves for all levels all year round.

For 7 nights, you'll stay in a private room in one of our surf houses – never a dormitory. You'll take 5 days of 2-hour surf lessons with a certified instructor, in groups divided by skill level each day (maximum 8 people per instructor). Surfboard, wetsuit, and rash guard are provided.

Classes begin the day after your arrival, at 10:00 AM at our school; the schedule may be adjusted according to the tide and waves. Classes are taught in English or Spanish.

Included: daily housekeeping, bed linen, 2 towels per person, shared fully equipped kitchen and living room, free Wi-Fi, insurance during lessons. Traveling with someone who doesn't surf? They can share your room.

This trip is for beginners and those returning to surfing after a break: you just need to know how to swim and be in reasonable physical condition. Famara beach is a long, sandy beach break, ideal for learning in the whitewater and then in smaller waves. Each day, groups are reorganized by skill level (maximum 8 people per instructor), and the lesson schedule is adjusted according to the tide and waves. Board, wetsuit, and rash guard are provided.

Mariano manages the Red Star Surf instructor team. Every day, he creates groups based on skill level and ensures that everyone progresses at their own pace, safely. Most of our students know him from their very first lesson.


A team of passionate instructors, holding recognized qualifications according to their profiles: ISA, Spanish Surfing Federation, Canary Islands Surfing Federation, RLSS lifesaving, and other certifications. Lessons are given in English or Spanish.

Lessons are taught by certified instructors, with a maximum of 8 students per instructor. Red Star Surf is an officially registered surf school in the Canary Islands (LZ/2013/000003), operating since 2010. The instructor adjusts the lesson schedule daily according to the tide and sea conditions. Medical insurance covers participants during lessons.
