The routes are designed to suit the pace of even the youngest children and offer historical, cultural, and fun discoveries for everyone to enjoy. The days are filled with hikes and often end with a refreshing swim, perfect for cooling off after a day of adventure. Welcome to Viala du Pas de Jaux, a Templar and Hospitaller town, on the Larzac plateau.
Accommodation in the gîte at the foot of the largest granary tower built in Aveyron, used to house the population.
Reaching the top of this tower will be the first objective of the day. From its 30-meter height, on the guard path, the entire Larzac plateau becomes accessible!
The first activity was a treasure hunt to discover the village.

Day 1 -
An underground walk through the secret caves of Roquefort

Starting from Viala du Pas de Jaux, you'll embark on a journey to the center of the earth. An unexpected underground route on the Larzac plateau. Your exploration will lead you to the heart of the massif through its geological faults. By traversing an ancient natural cavity once used for making Roquefort cheese, the entire history of the shepherds will be revealed.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at the very top of the Tournemire cirque with a panoramic view of the Brias site. You're sure to be visited by some very large birds of prey in this setting: Griffon vultures, the dominant players in this ecosystem. The air and wide open spaces: this is their domain!
Return around 4pm after the walk, snack at the gîte and free end of the afternoon.

Cabins and a wood fire, prepare your bivouac!

This day revolves around a bivouac workshop and the preparation of an evening around a campfire in an exceptional setting. At the majestic Cirque de Tournemire, at La Maison de Vigne, you will be guided in setting up a "wild camping" project. The adventure will continue under a sky filled with a thousand stars!

The pocket knife is a fantastic way to connect with nature, to learn about it, and to respect it. To ensure its safe use, children, accompanied by our guides, will take their first knife-handling course.

After a beautiful starry night, it's back to base camp for a hearty country brunch! A break is in order before setting off on new explorations: In the heart of the Grands Causses, the Tarn, Jonte, and Dourbie rivers are ideal for a unique riverside excursion. This aquatic hike introduces you to a new environment in a fun way, with your feet in the water! While learning about the region's history, you'll follow the river upstream in search of otter and beaver tracks. Swimming is guaranteed! (Don't forget your water shoes!)
In the late afternoon, it's finally time for the producers and farmers of Larzac to meet at the Montredon Producers' Market.

Step back in time to 1140! The Knights Templar are taking over the southern lands. You'll discover the headquarters of the Templar and Hospitaller lords of the Larzac plateau. Their history, steeped in treasure, esotericism, and power, still captivates minds and stirs passions! The historical exploration of the lives of these warrior monks will be presented in a simple yet engaging way. A picnic by the river, a walk, a meeting with local artisans, and a refreshing swim are also on the agenda for this day.
Enjoy a picnic by the river before meeting Martine, a cow and sheep farmer. She'll tell you about her life and give you a tour of her farm before sitting down to sample her homemade specialties. Farmhouse cheeses, egg custard, open-faced sandwiches, and jams will be on the menu!
