Tarangire National Park is located in northern Tanzania. It is crossed by the permanently flowing Tarangire River; thus, during the annual dry season from July to October, many animals migrate there from the arid regions, giving the park the highest density of wildlife in Tanzania after the Ngorongoro Crater.

The landscape consists of grasslands, particularly on either side of the river, open wooded savanna, scrubland and dense woodlands, as well as hills and cliffs with sparse vegetation. Baobab trees are found in exceptionally high numbers. Tarangire National Park is home to, among other animals, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, waterbuck, lesser kudu, African buffalo, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and African wild dogs.

This national park is located in the northern part of Tanzania, 126 kilometers west of the city of Arusha. The park covers an area of ​​330 square kilometers, of which 220 square kilometers are occupied by the lake when the water level is high during the rainy season.

Ngorongoro is a crater located in Tanzania, on the edge of the Serengeti. It was formed when a volcano collapsed at this location. The crater floor is at an altitude of approximately 1,700 meters, and the lateral walls are between 400 and 600 meters high, placing the crater rim at about 2,300 meters. The crater's diameter is approximately 20 kilometers.

Approximately 25,000 wild animals inhabit the crater, which also boasts the highest predator density in all of Africa. The number of zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, antelopes, and gazelles is particularly high. They are preyed upon by lions, hyenas, and leopards. Elephants are also found in the crater, and, more unusually for the region, hippos. Between 10 and 15 black rhinos, an endangered species, also remain. The Great Migration of Serengeti cattle also passes through the Ngorongoro Crater.
