More than just a sailing course, we offer a cruise focused on the pleasure and discovery of sailing. Aboard BAMAKO, our Sun Fast 37, you'll enjoy a comfortable and safe mode of transport that will inspire you to explore further.
We will sail peacefully along the coast, without striving for performance, to fully enjoy the marine environment. Beginners (level 1) will discover their first sensations, while more experienced sailors (level 2) will consolidate their skills.
This trip will take you along the Catalan coast to the most charming ports (Collioure, Cadaqués, ...), but above all it will awaken in you the sensations necessary for your learning.

Everyone can participate in this trip. The supervision, program, or group will be tailored to each person's level.
The expert's opinion
1> You will discover the basics of navigation: using the sails and the tiller to steer the sailboat, understanding the action of the wind on the sails, experiencing your first sensations at sea and adopting the right reflexes.
Particular attention will be paid to safety, reading the elements and respecting the fragile marine environment.
2> You will learn to sail at all speeds by easily linking essential maneuvers. You will discover how to adapt the settings to the weather conditions.
We will cover map reading and understanding the sky to navigate towards autonomy.

Your instructor, a qualified BPJEPS coach, will provide instruction calmly and attentively, with a focused and zen-like approach. Our teaching method is fun and engaging, based on a combination of theoretical input, hands-on practice, and repetition.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your instructor for a friendly introduction and settling-in period. After discussing your expectations and reviewing the weather forecast together, we will establish the sailing itinerary for your stay. Then, we will finalize the boat's provisioning according to everyone's preferences.
Next, you will receive a safety briefing. The boat inspection will be carried out, but will be accompanied by an instructional presentation.
We will have a quick lunch together, our goal being to leave the port at 1 p.m., depending on the weather conditions.
These preparations will give way to teaching as we sail towards our first stopover (port or anchorage) for a first night on board.

The following days will be entirely dedicated to your progress, alternating between theoretical instruction and practical exercises on routes leading to specific stopovers. We adapt the pace of the sailing days according to individual expectations and weather conditions.

On the last day we will head back to our port of departure, focusing on the application of the skills covered, with the aim of releasing you before 6 p.m. after a quick tidy-up of the boat.
Day 3
Note
Our boats are well-equipped racing/cruising yachts. You will be accommodated in shared double cabins; space is limited but sufficient for comfortable living on board. Meals will be prepared and eaten together in the saloon. A bathroom with a sink, shower, and toilet is available. Stopovers will be in port or at anchor, depending on individual preferences and weather conditions.
In this small space, kindness will be essential and respect for the house rules will be mandatory. You will need to bring only the bare essentials in a soft bag; a list will be provided so you don't forget anything.
Accommodation
🚢 Sailing cruise ship - Days 1 to 2
There will be a maximum of four trainees on board, and we will share the space offered by Bamako, which consists of three double cabins and a convertible saloon. We always find a way to ensure we can share this time together, and especially sleep peacefully.
We will share meals and their preparation in the mess hall. The bathroom consists of a toilet, a sink and a shower.
