From the northeastern Dolomites , you'll cycle through the Höhlensteintal valley, at the foot of the famous Drei Zinnen (Three Peaks), to the Olympic town of Cortina d'Ampezzo . Following the route of the old Dolomite railway, you'll continue to Pieve di Cadore , the birthplace of the renowned painter Titian.
The route continues through the Valley of the Master Glaciers ("Gelati") to the town of Belluno , in the heart of the Dolomites. Crossing the mountain foothills, the road first reaches Feltre , then Bassano del Grappa , from where you gradually descend to the plains. After a short detour to Asolo , the "city of a hundred horizons," the fashion capital of Treviso will welcome you. Finally, you will follow the Sile River towards Venice : the lagoon city of Venice provides a magnificent finale to your exploration of Northern Italy.
Things to know about the route
- The terrain: The first two days mainly follow the old Dolomite railway line. From the third day onwards, the route alternates between gentle climbs and descents on quiet secondary roads, passing through idyllic landscapes and typical Italian villages, before reaching the plain on the last day.
- Age requirement: This circuit is suitable for children over 14 years old.
