Cycling getaway: Heading for the Pearl of the Baltic

In the morning, set off for a 3-hour city tour by bike.

The tour is designed to offer visitors an intimate and personalized experience of some of Copenhagen's most beautiful monuments, while also providing them with a more local perspective of the city.

The morning tour is our longest, lasting three hours. It will allow you to discover Copenhagen in its entirety and take a complete tour of the city.

Then free afternoon

Start with the charming canal district, the Town Hall Square, Christiansborg Palace, the seat of government, Kongens Nytorv Square where the Royal Theatre is located, the picturesque Nyhavn district, a canal that penetrates to the heart of the city's elegant district (on the quays, there are still old colorful merchant houses and Andersen lived at number 67), Amalienborg Palace, residence of the royal family...

Also admire the superb Gefion fountain and pay a visit to the "Little Mermaid" sitting by the water on her granite block, gazing out to sea.

Experience the Danish capital from a unique perspective on a 2-hour canal cruise. Departing from the city center, you'll glide along the water for a one-of-a-kind, eco-friendly urban exploration.

An immersive loop in the heart of the city. You will sail past Christiansborg Palace, the picturesque Christianshavn district with its colorful houses, and the modern architecture of the Opera House .

Suitable for all levels, this outing combines gentle exercise with cultural discovery. Passing under the city's low bridges offers an intimate perspective on local life and Danish houseboats.

Enjoy a morning in Copenhagen before taking the train in the afternoon to Malmo.

Malmö is a perfect city for a quick exploration as its city centre is very compact.

Start with the historic center:

1. Lilla Torg: This is the most charming square in the city with its 16th-century half-timbered houses. It's the perfect place for a Fika (the Swedish coffee break) on a terrace.
2. The seaside promenade (Daniaparken): Offers a breathtaking view of the Öresund Bridge, which connects Sweden and Denmark. This is Malmö's eco-friendly and futuristic district.
3. Take a quick stroll through Kungsparken (the King's Park), a beautiful English garden with canals and a historic windmill (Slottsmöllan).

Take the train towards Ystad

Then board the ferry from Ystad to Ronne, to find yourself back in Denmark on Bornholm, the Danish island of Ré!

It is an increasingly popular destination thanks to its unique blend of nature, culture and history.

Bornholm is renowned for its diverse landscapes, ranging from long stretches of fine sandy beaches and dramatic cliffs to dense forests and picturesque hills. The island also enjoys a relatively mild climate, making it a pleasant destination to visit year-round.

Upon arrival in Ronne, collect your bikes and check into your hotel.

You will have 2 bikes, including 1 trailer to carry your luggage!

First day of cycling on the island of Bornholm which offers a magnificent glimpse of the diversity of landscapes of this Danish island.

After a first stop for supplies in the center of Rønne, a charming little port town, cycle along the north coast. The cycle path winds between pine forests, gentle cliffs, and small coves of golden sand. The journey, approximately 20 kilometers long, can be completed at a leisurely pace, with numerous opportunities to stop and admire the Baltic Sea and the picturesque villages that dot the route.

A stop in Hasle, halfway through the journey, offers the chance to visit a traditional smokehouse and sample warm smoked fish, a must-try specialty of Bornholm. In the afternoon, the road becomes even more peaceful, winding through fields and forests, until reaching the Allinge-Sandvig region where the Hotel Friheden is located. Upon arrival, guests can relax on the terrace overlooking the sea or enjoy a swim if the weather permits.

The end of the day invites a stroll along the coastline or towards the nearby cliffs, bathed in golden light at sunset. After a day of cycling amidst nature, culture, and the laid-back lifestyle, dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant brings this first typically Bornholm getaway to a peaceful and authentic close.

The day's cycling between the north of Bornholm and Nexø in the southeast is a true crossing of the island, revealing all its natural beauty and tranquil charm.

Leaving the Friheden Hotel in the morning, you first follow the rocky coastline between Allinge and Gudhjem, one of the most beautiful stretches of the island. The scenery alternates between steep cliffs, small fishing ports, and houses with colorful facades. A stop in Gudhjem is a must to stroll through the sloping alleyways, enjoy a coffee overlooking the sea, or sample the famous smoked fish of Bornholm.

Continuing along the road, we cross the interior of the island, which is more hilly and wooded. The route passes through rural landscapes dotted with white churches, windmills and rapeseed fields, depending on the season.

In the afternoon, the road descends southwards and the coastline becomes gentler. As you approach Nexo, the landscape opens up to long, light-sand beaches bordered by dunes and pine trees.

Bornholmoise in a peaceful and authentic atmosphere.

Leaving Balka in the morning, the track initially follows the sea to Nexø, a lively little port where you can stop for a coffee or a Danish pastry. The local market and art galleries attest to the cultural vibrancy of this part of the island. Continuing west, the landscape becomes wilder, and the road hugs the coastline through dunes, fields, and scattered woods.

Around midday, you reach Dueodde, famous for its endless white sand beach, one of the most beautiful in Bornholm. It's the perfect spot for a picnic and, weather permitting, a swim or a climb to the top of the Dueodde lighthouse, which offers spectacular views across the entire south coast. Continuing along the route, the cycle path passes through charming hamlets like Snogebæk and Pedersker, where you can explore artisan workshops or enjoy some homemade ice cream.

In the afternoon, return journey to Ronne where you take the ferry back to Ystad.

You take the ferry back to Ystad and then the train to Malmo and then Copenhagen.
