Immersive self-guided hiking, from the Aravis mountains to Lake Annecy

A gentle first day with a beautiful hike to La Clusaz . Two routes are available:

1. A loop via the Tête du Danay (1731m) , crossing the Mouilles de la Perrière . The panorama is superb, with the Aravis mountain range to the east and Mont Lachat de Châtillon overlooking the Bouchet valley. 6 hours of walking, 12.7km, +820m, -770m .
2. A variant passing through the Pointe de Beauregard , with a detour via the Lac de la Ferriaz , before descending back towards La Clusaz via Le Planet .

Night in La Clusaz in a 2* hotel .

Transfer by bus (at your own expense) or private vehicle (before June 21st and after September 6th) to Lac des Confins , the starting point of the hike. The route crosses the vast alpine pastures of the Plateau des Confins before reaching the cirque of the Bouchet Valley , dominated by the Pointe Percée (2750m) and the Pointe de Roulletaz (2077m) . The trail winds its way between the peaks to cross the Col de Borneronde , then the Col des Annes (1721m) , where a picnic break is possible at the mountain refuge.

The descent is gentle towards Chinaillon , below the ridges of the Pointes d'Almet, Grande Combe and Deux Heures .

Overnight stay in Chinaillon in a 3* hotel .

Starting from Chinaillon , the ascent begins gently up to the Guillery chalets , then continues towards the Col de la Colombière (1607m) . From there, two routes are possible:

1. Pointe de Balafrasse (2296m) : a gradual climb to Lac de Peyre , before reaching the Col de Balafrasse and the summit. The panorama is superb. The descent follows the same route. 13km, +/-1000m .
2. Lake Lessy: panoramic hike to Lake Lessy. Several options for shortening the hike.

hiking by stopping at the Col Sous le Buclon or by doing the Bassins loop

from Samance before descending to Chinaillon. 13 km, +/-800 m.

Overnight stay in Chinaillon in a 3* hotel .

Two routes are available for this day of hiking:

1. Via the Aiguille Verte and Lac de Lessy : the ascent to the Aiguille Verte (2000m) offers a superb panorama of the Pointe Percée and the Mont Blanc ridge. The trail then crosses the Col de la Forclaz before descending to the hamlet of Mayse , where a snack break is possible at the gîte. A final climb to the Col du Planay allows you to rejoin the route leading gradually to Le Grand-Bornand , passing through Les Mouilles and La Tannaz .
2. Via the Samance Alpine Pastures : a shorter route, starting with a gentle climb on the discovery trail before descending towards the old listed village of Chinaillon . The hike continues below the Roc de Charmieux , then through the Tannaz alpine pasture , before descending towards Le Grand-Bornand along the Forclaz rocks .

Night in Grand-Bornand in a 2* hotel .

Early morning transfer to Montremont (850m) before beginning the ascent to the Col des Nantets (1426m) . From there, the view opens up to Lake Annecy , nestled between the mountains. The descent is made at the foot of the Dents de Lanfon , following the lakeside path, to Talloires , one of the most beautiful villages on the shores of the lake.

In Talloires, you board the local boat (a boat that circles the lake, at your own expense) to reach Annecy , passing through Doussard and Duingt . If no boat is available, a bus also provides access to the city.

Overnight stay in Annecy in a 4-star hotel (bed and breakfast). For dinner, enjoy the many restaurants in Old Annecy , a picturesque district on the lakefront.

After breakfast , you are free to leave or enjoy one last hike above Annecy .

By taking a public bus towards Thônes (at your own expense), you will reach the Col de Bluffy (7km) . From there, the trail climbs towards the ridge of Mont Barret (1065m) before descending to the Col des Contrebandiers (1054m) . The route continues to Mont Baron (1254m) , offering exceptional views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The hike then follows the ridge to Mont Veyrier (1291m) , before gently descending to the shores of Lake Annecy .
